It's silver, thank you very much!
May. 14th, 2006 12:18 amNote to self: place drug order through semaphore, smoke signals, tin cans tied with string, or other non-phone device. This news of course, comes less than a year after Yahoo! gave away everyone's search information without a warrant and without telling anyone. Then Google fought it, but basically did the same thing. Egads, I can remember when other countries were jealous of all the rights we Americans enjoy. Or maybe they weren't. After all, I learned that in school and a whole bunch of school-taught lessons turned out to be utter bullshit.
Moving on, am I correct in thinking that a hair dresser should never, EVER comment on how much gray hair someone has? I walked out without bothering to get my haircut, so pissed was I that the woman laughed and suggested a dye job. I stopped coloring my hair a few months ago for the express purpose of finding out how much gray hair I have naturally. And in truth, I was thinking about coloring it again. While I don't have as much gray now as I did when I was 17 (I was a stressed out teenager), I do have some. Come to think of it, H has way more gray than me and he's 4 years younger. Anyway, I had to Email a mean Email to this elusive "Sam" letting him know that his staff is something less than "Fantastic."
Now I totally don't want to color my hair just to be defiant. I'm 35, which seemed pretty old to me when I was a tiny kid. So it's normal and natural to have a few grays. I do feel it's pretty vain to get all weird about a few gray (or silver, in my case--they are very shiny) hairs. At least I'm not going bald. Hahahahaa! That would suck. But I would look younger, and presumably cuter if I colored. I can't really decide. I feel sort of old to go for unnatural burgundies or high-lites, but like I said, I feel vain and high maintenance coloring specifically to banish the gray.
So please, share your hair color philosophies with me.
In scribing news, I was trying to do 3K between 12:01 and 11:59 on the 13th, but I only got halfway there. I do plan to finish Chapter Six before I go to bed and maybe get a good bite into Chapter Seven. But only after i enjoy the white trash meal of Koegels franks wrapped in cheese and Pillsbury Crescents.
Oh yeah, and H's mom loved the gift we sent her. It was an assortment of paints that set us back about $50. Yeah, apparently she paints and as she put it, she'll "be a paintin' fool" now that she is stocked up with paints. I guess I'm just lucky that writing is not nearly so expensive, my passion for fine red pens and flourscent high-liters not withstanding. ;-}
