wednes: (Default)
I have written over 4k of fairly decent words in the last two days. That's pretty good, if I do say so. I'm going to try to get a sizable bite into the next chapter tomorrow and hopefully finish it by Sunday night/Monday morning. This last chapter was a mindfucker, because it's Odovacar's back story. This means it's my cathartic working out of what the hell happend with my former friend and that awful goddamn shooting. So it's a difficult read, but one I think will ultimatley enhance the emotional impact of the story, you know...once I finish it. Anyway, it's posted You-Know-Where (psst. [livejournal.com profile] wednes_writes).

I also want to rewrite my Sadie query so I can start sending that out to potential agents. Yeah, I've been sending out my manuscript for a year (I know, that's not very long) but I'm not really getting anywhere. Hopefully some agent will love it and know of 4 different houses who will likely get involved ina bidding war over me. Mmmm...bidding war...
I'm also going to work on my synopsis some more even though I hate it so very, very much. I think I'd rather read rejection letters all day long that condense my heartfelt opus into five pages of cold facts about plot and theme with none of the subtely and amazing prose that makes it so amazing in the first place. I'm just saying...I hate doing the synopsis. Plus, is it wrong to try to sell something as different genres? There's a lot of crossover, it seems. Dramas and thrillers can be horror, and horror can be black comedy (as I've said many times before). What are the ethics of that? Anyone know?

Been thinking about a new chair for my living room (well, moreso for me than the room). Not a NEW new one, but one that is new to me and presumably newer than the one I have. Mine is pretty much falling apart from frequent sitting and occasional cat-clawing. I like it though, I wouldn't mind getting another just like it. Plus, it's like fifteen years old, which is pretty good for a chair that's been moved to like, 12 different apartments. So if you know anyone selling a cheap, comfy chair near me, do let me know.

Recently I've made a descision about the last three Star Wars movies. While watching the crazed fans was fun, and the new fight sequences were bad-ass, I just was not very impressed. I think the best thing to come out of all those movies is Mace Windu. When I said this to this jackass I know, they said, and I quote: "Who the hell is Mace Windu" I know. It's utter jackassory. So in case YOU don't know who he is, he's this guy. *shakes head* Doesn't know who Mace Windu is...honestly!

Since some of you have asked, I shall let it be known that I am damn, damn excited for the remake of The Hills Have Eyes. And guess what, bitches? Ted Levine is in it. So put the fucking lotion in the basket, and come pick me up to see this movie. You know, when it opens.
