Since my life is so shitty and I'm feeling so crappy; I thought I'd stay up until all hours watching movies, "having pizza" and baking bread for the party. Oh, and
nate101000, remember when I said not to worry about bringing a pie? On second thought, I'd love for you to do that if it's still possible. No biggie though if you can't. Damn, I'm already exhausted of feeling so depressed.
Staying up till all hours watching cable has made me ponder the whole issue of movie ratings. Gremlins, for example, is rated PG despite the fact that it is pretty damn scary. And the violence is not bloody, but terrible things happen to undeserving people. In fact, after Jaws I'd say it's the scariest PG rated movie I can think of offhand. Plus there are movies with really dirty jokes in them that are rated PG. like Airplane! That movie has naked boobies, blowjob jokes, and shit literally hitting the fan (hilarious, BTW).
I remembered that there was not always a PG 13 rating; and that it had something to do with Indianna Jones. I looked up the ratings on Wikipedia, and this is what I found. I thought this was good information to have, although it bothers me that these ratings are enforced arbitrarily, and that many PG 13 movies are in no way suitable for children.
Then again, maybe I'm getting old and stodgy...but I enjoyed this lesson in the history of ratings. Plus so many films I own are mentioned. Wheeeee!
Anyway, catch you on the flip side, dude-meisters!
