Superman, Dads, and Rage Zombies

I spent my Monday spending time with H, applying for new and better jobs, and watching Superman movies. I like Superman, he is dreamy! I made Kung Pow shrimp for dinner, and it was tasty even though there was not very much of it. I've finally convinced H as to the importnace of good bread, so he is buying it...but he is also bogarting it. Oh well.

I got another Email from my "Dad". That was cool, since I hadn't even wrote him back yet. It seems that i have a brother in NY and a sister in DC. While I am curious to know about them, I think that can wait for a while...a long while in fact. So far this is all going pretty well, but I don't want to get too involved too soon.

Other than that, I'm doing very little and just letting the information process, I'm still pretty wigged out. Plus it seems taht there is a lot of upheaval and changes happening to lots of people I know. People having major successes, failures and scares all around...big changes are in the air it seems. Maybe one of them will involve me getting back to work soon.

Also a short newsflash: a lot of the people who post on IMDB message boards are stupid, ignorant or just plain old ridiculous. Sadly, the internet is a microcosm of the rest of the world.

Baking of one kind or another...

I'm trying to get things in order in the apartment and elsewhere today, as I keep feeling like everything is very scattered and unattended if that makes any sense. I cleaned the bedroom, finished some laundry...but of course there is more, showered and all that, and picked up the insane amount of plastic wrappers and trash that the animals love to scatter around our humble home.

Spent 2 hours or so playing loud music (I love that Throwing Copper album by Live) and coloring in my coloring books. That can be quite relaxing and conducive to clear thinking. I also applied for a job at Clear Channel, and signed up for a few more volunteer shifts at the shelter. Hopefully all of that will enrich my life rather than make me more depressed in the future, but who knows. Nothing ventured and all that there...

I'm making H's favorite cookies today. They are the "Puffy" recipe from Altons Browns Good Eats show. I love that guy, and do a lot of his techniques...never let it be said that I follow recipes. Cooking accomplishes many things for me. It is artistic and expressive, it helps me nourish my family and people I invite to my home, and it utilizes my "kitchen witchery" yearnings, which is really the spiritual side of the first two things. The dough is chilling and later today we'll have chocochip and peanut butter chip cookies. Mmmmm...
I also think I'm going to make a sourdough bread dough with some of my Amish starter. It seems the loaf of sourdough we just got Sunday from Panera Bread is already gone!

I said I was going to report the Lj Crush Meme in the hopes that more of you will have admitted your secret (or otherwise) crushes on me. Sadly, it is down temporarily. In the mean time, I give you--Trust!
