(no subject)

This is my new icon, because it looks like me.

Also a short newsflash: a lot of the people who post on IMDB message boards are stupid, ignorant or just plain old ridiculous. Sadly, the internet is a microcosm of the rest of the world.

Sigh.

Oh, man -- that is so true about the IMDB boards. Unusually so.

Yes, it's very frustrating.

I happened upon a Mad Libs community yesterday, and I thought I should tell you about it...it is [livejournal.com profile] mad_libs_mania...it looks like it could use some new members to spice it up...I've joined myself, and there's one mad lib that could use a few more words to complete it...

and a friendship bread update: I'm working on the ten day process for two starters, but I was a little neglectful as far as stirring goes for a day or two and I was a day late for feeding them...I had to buy more sugar yesterday so I could finish feeding one of the starters...after adding and stirring, I went to rinse off the spoon, but I hadn't yet closed the bag and it accidentally got knocked over somehow and most of the contents spilled onto the floor...one of my kittens managed to step in it before I banished her to a bedroom...argh...there's about a quarter to a half of it left, and I haven't thrown it out yet...I'm wondering if any of that can be salvaged somehow...also while I was at the grocery store, I noticed that there were cheesecake pudding mixes, so I'm looking forward to trying that...

Once you take some out of the starter (even by dropping on floor ;-) you can start again with day 2. I keep mine in the bag and just smoosh it around every day and only stir when I'm feeding it.

As long as it does not smell rank or bad, it is fine. It should smell yeasty and floury and a little like beer. As long as that's the case, you can keep what you have and keep feeding it. If not, the recipe to start from scratch is included in the instructions.

"message boards are stupid, ignorant or just plain old ridiculous. Sadly, the internet is a microcosm of the rest of the world."

You ever read the webcomic Penny Arcade? They came up with a formula that explains that very phenomenon.

Normal Person + Anonymity + An Audience = Total Fuckwad

Yeah, that sounds about right!
