...can only mean that I'm at work! No offense to you kid-havers out there, but why don't you ever seem to clue in that not everyone finds your shrieking, ill-tempered kid cute and funny. That said, I'm in a pretty good mood.

I stopped taking those sleeping pills, they were starting to get in the way of getting up and doing stuff. Perhaps I only need them for occasional sleeplessness. Still haven't planned a menu for the housewarming. I think we're grilling sausages of some kind, so I'll have to make a vegan pasta salad (greek, methinks), and some phyllo pie for my beloved [livejournal.com profile] lickingtoad, though I don't think I'll go to the trouble of making tarts. Oh hell, sure I will!

Having a screening of Dr Stranglove at my place because we have to think up some marketing ideas for work.
How does one market that film to Ann Arbor students?

Today I'll be working a double shift, and reading this shooting copy of "I am Legend" that is from 2002. Sadly, this film is not being shot so far as I know. Man, I freaking love this story! But I always picture it with Charleton Heston, regardless of the dissimilar description in the script. Then maybe I'll order myself a sub sandwich, leave work and go home to relax before coming back tomorrow morning. I'm glad I enjoy my gig!

Where Did Your Soul Originate?

Now that's just silly. Work was fun tonight, as i worked with the new kid that is so very cute and funny. He gave me this tiny bird sculpture that I'm going to put near my altar once I get it set up. Had a sighting of my favorite genius [livejournal.com profile] clockworkmonkey at ye olde mall. Don't tell him i told you this, but he was seeing a movie! (Shhh...privacy is very important for a vital young dude!).

I have been thinking today about the ways in which people sabotage themselves; and how this sabotage is always noticed by those around them. Sometimes you have a good friend or even just someone you know casually, and you see them totally fucking up thier life in some way...and they just can't see it. And you tell them and reason with them, and finally realize that some lesons don't sink in unless you learn them firsthand. And you steel yourself for the unpleasant task of watching this person go thru hell while you look on helplessly. Caring about people can really suck, but i suppose apathy would be endlessly worse.

In other news, there is this space in front of my front door at the new apartment. It has a sort of roof over it and some stairs to the right that go up. You can stand under it in the pouring rain (we've had a ton of it as of late) and not get wet...and still see all the thunder. I like to hang out under it while I'm high, and pretend I'm a troll who lives under a bridge. It's awesome.
In my next life, i want to be a stone gargoyle that comes alive at night...

Oooh, I have guests...N and K and M are here!
