Oct. 14th, 2002 10:20 amFor myriad reasons, H and I are wanting to switch to cell phones. Having done a bit of research, I am more perplexed than when I started. It seems like the plans that give you free phones, give out crappy phones that no one likes. There seem to be catches involving rebates, returns, and warantees.
We want one plan with 2 phones, a bunch of minutes we can use to make 20% or so long distance calls. Almost all of our calls are nights and weekends. We must have clear sound, or I'll end up throwing it from a bus window.
Also, we hate, hate, hate Ameritech. Who should we use? Which phones are good, which providers suck? All the info sites seem to be run by one provider or another, we really need an unbiased opinion.
