Noises Off!
Aug. 3rd, 2002 10:04 amMan, I watched the funniest movie last night! It was recommended to be by Uterdic, rented by Pak_Man78, and watched by me and lickingtoad. Noises Off, from 1992. It had Carol Burnette, Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve, Julie Hagerty, that redhead from Taxi, Denholm Elliot, Nicolette Sheridan and the great John Ritter (he really CAN act in case you didn't know).
It's about a theatre company doing this mildly funny show that becomes hilarious with all the backstage hijinks that take place. I won't tell you lot's about it...just see it! many of the comedies that come out are either poorly written, amateurishly acted, or the humor is so juvenile you want to sneak out of the theatre before anyone sees you. Not so for this well-crafted, hilarious film.
In other Wednes news, I am skipping the primary election on Monday. I know I should vote, but I honestly can't decide who is the least evil of those running. So I'll just save that vote (jack Lessenberry be damned!) until I can make an actual difference. Plus I must admit, I lost a lot of faith in our electoral system after that last shoddy excuse for a presidential election. W, my ass!
And finally, this week without Uterdic has been vacuous and devoid of well, Uterdic. Come home dammit, we miss you! Only tonight's Simpsons marathon will ease my loneliness.
