The Library of Congress has decided on the 88 books that shaped America. As I happen to be an American, I thought you'd like to know which of these influenced me personally.
Italics mean I read it and it landed somewhere between Zzzz, meh, and why the hell should I care.
Bold means it affected me in some meaningful and lasting way. Exclamation points afterwords mean the same thing, but more.
