While they have not yet actually started building new prisons just for debtor's (but won't THAT be a job-creator), they ARE arresting people for not paying their debts. Credit cards, car loans, even medical bills. Think getting your car repo'd is the worst thing that could happen to you? How about if after the repo, Daddy get arrested in front of the whole fam and the neighbors--who then presume they live near criminals.
Yes, people should try to pay their bills.
Yes, people should do their best to live within their means.
But for fuck's sake, if they start arresting people for the "crimes" of not being able to afford the cars or medical care they need--that may just be the thing that begins a full-scale class riot.
We do have everything necessary for a class riot:
--a divisive foundation wherein everyone is either a fascist redneck GOP asshole, or a bleeding heart terrorist sympathizer who loves abortion.
--lots and lots of guns.
--people who think the most important debates at hand are actually about religion.
--facebook.
--a widely watched news network that actively seeks to misinform the populace by turning them against each other rather than toward the people causing the problem.
