I need that stopwatch from Twilight Zone
Sep. 24th, 2010 02:26 pmLooks like I'm not going to get my haunting story done in time for the anthology that asked for it. I thought I was going to have at least until the end of the month. Got a note from the publisher today who said it's due on the 27th. Guess what? I have another anthology sub that needs to be revised and turned in by Monday. Plus I have to edit together two separate bits of audio for the podcast, then mix the whole thing for posting by then. And it's grocery weekend. and the new FOX Sunday night season comes back this week. **For the record, I've been watching Sunday Night FOX for over 20 years now--Long before they were evil**
I'm trying to strike a balance between getting a lot of shit done, and having a fun and happy life. I don't want to be one of those maniacs who is always miserable because their main focus is to earn as much money as possible. I don't equate money or stuff with overall worth or happiness. That said, there are a great many things that I want to accomplish that take a lot of hard work. I want to get things done so I can hurry up and be a popular writer. I need to write stories and produce these audiobooks and get my work out everywhere it can be. I just feel like I don't have enough time. I'm almost 40, and I feel like I have no time at all.
I have been indulging in season 3 of True Blood which has more sex in it than a whorehouse on Father's Day. And only about half of it is straight. Two more eps to watch in the season, and I have a a terrible foreboding feeling that my beloved Denis O'Hare is going to die. He's far too ensconced in cartoonish super villainy to live. He's a marvelous character actor though--I adore him. Though Franklin is the easy choice for fave new character this season.
Short shift at work today, which is nice. Unless I work on Saturday, Friday is my typical night to stay up late and get things done. Yay! Night!
And finally, my 40th birthday party will be the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
And yes, I want a Kindle. Make it happen!
