'Tis also fun to receive, I find.
Dec. 20th, 2006 03:13 pmPeople have been most generous with the cards and gifts this year. Thanks to all of you and the many beauitful cards you have sent our way. Know that they are displayed in my kitchen/altar area and are being enjoyed by our many holiday guests. Happily, I also rec'd a copy of Earthcore, which was written by a guy I went to college with. I won't say I'm not jealous, it really is a solid book. So, big thanks to
diachrony for that as well!!
Things are going pretty well for me. Maybe that means a job will fall into my lap soon. I'm applying for some receptionist gigs this week, not much else is around out there. I really need to work so I can help defray wedding costs. And now that it's decided that there will be a honeymoon (did I tells ya? There's gonna be a honeymoon?!?) we'll need to have more money to budget in. Plus, I'll need a few clothes and a new coat if we intend to honeymoon in Stratford, which is my wish. I really want to see King Lear at the Shakespeare festival (Canada, not at the Globe) and will need a nice new dress that doesn't come from Lane Bryant.
Speaking of wedding stuff, I thought of the coolest favor. We're doing little Mad Lib books because Mad Libs are a staple party activity around here. And we're going to get personalized pens to go with. It'll have our name and wedding date so people will remember our anniversary too!! I think that along with some personalized hershey bars will be perfectly nice for favors.
H loved his many birthday gifts. He got 2 hats, some books including one of The Onion. He's building up a nice collection of those. I also got him Narnia on DVD, Batman v Mr Freeze, and a bunch of candy. H is a fan of Big League Chew. He's getting a bunch more gifts on Monday, and since Monday is his usual day off, we get to spend Christmas day together for the first time ever.
For the record, I am GROSSLY offended by and opposed to the Underdog movie.
Although, Peter Dinklage as Simon Barsinister is almost intriguing.
