As promised Comedy Central is reairing the Scientology episode because it was nominated for Emmy's. Comedy Central is getting to be as bad as FOX with it's great programs offsetting network wide stupidity. Frown. I wish Trey and Matt weren't gay so I could marry them. Actually...I can still marry them and our loveless hetero marriage would be a boon to the sacred bond of matrimony until the impending divorce. ;-}
I still can't find Stephen Colbert's Email address, which used to be at Comedy Central's website. I still haven't been able to send H's application to be his new black friend.
EDIT: done and done!

Group was pretty good tonight. We talked about Mothers and how to deal with our relationships with them. Myself, all of my life's failures are punctuated by my Mom's voice in my head telling me that no one is surprised that I've proved myself to be a SPECTACULAR failure yet again.. This is probably why my own perceived (and real, face it) failures are especially painful and dramatic. That happens to a lesser extent these days than it used to; but it's not what I'd call "gone." Amazingly, every single person in my Group has gone through terrible abuse at the hands of their mothers, some that make my life look like a cake walk.

My new mood theme is the best ever. I love Stephen, but that theme was made after he'd done like, 20 shows so it didn't offer much variety. This new one is fantasically done and happens to be based on American Psycho which is one of my fave horror movies.

Because it would be a waste of internet space to expound on the current world and national news, I won't. We all know how we feel about stem cells, "embryos," Bush sexual harassing that German chick, the middle east, and Kid Rock getting married, so there's no reason to rehash it all here. Just laugh because I said "hash" and move on.

H and I finally finished watching Nightwatch. I wasn't sure that I was going to like it after seeing the first say, 20 minutes. It seemed to straddle a fine line between being amateurish and senseless and being really cool and experimental. So you have to take the good with the bad. It turns out, I really, really liked it. The acting was solid--all of it. I marveled afterwards how they got fine performances out of a bunch of people I've never heard of. The camera work was uneven but there were some truly stunning scenes. There are also moments where the action seems totally contrived (I get it, you can do CGI) but that doesn't really take away from the overall impact if you have any sense of suspending your disbeleif. It's totally worth it.
It was clearly made with a smaller budget than other films of it's genre. Interestingly, it had many of the elements I notice in Russian children's literature (for kids, not by kids) like an immediate acceptance of heaven, hell, magic, psychic powers, animal transformations and other things that Americans require much more specific explanations of. I found myself wanting to say "how did THAT happen" or "why can he do THAT" when the specifics weren't very important to the story itself.
Speaking of story, it seemed like it was slow and erratically paced. You aren't sure what or whom you're seeing at times but then suddenly, it falls together like a kickass game of tetris on acid. It has elements of Xmen, Constantine, Blade, Prophecy, and some stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting. It is a truly compelling, if unusual, film that I reccomend for fans of horror, action, thrillers, and all you D&D, WoW, LARPers or whatever the hell else you nerdlingers call yourselves. It's almost 2 hours long and can get a bit draggy, but it's worth making it all the way through.
