But first, I must mention that David Blaine began boring and confusing people once again with his wierd "let's see if he dies this time" stunts. This time, he'll be impersonating my favorite sea monkey accessory in the middle of that town terrorists hate. (not!) What's his deal? Seriously?
But onto tonights TV. It being sweeps, TV is saving all it's best to air during this month.Law & Order SVU tantalized us with an episode titled simply "Fat." Olivia, due to her real-life persona being knocked up, is "taking a break" from Stabler, save one brief scene where they looked suspiciously like Mulder and Scully trying not to kiss. Stablers partner du jour was a fat guy named Lucious. Why? I think we know it's because of the "Luciousness" of fat people. *snerk* If you think Law & Order is gonna stoop to trot out a bunch of stupid stereotypes and wrap them around a needlessly sensational and utterly implausable plot, you're right on the money. Thankfully, Elliot got violent, and further character development was revealed, not making the episode a complete waste of time. It was annoying and didn't deal with the issues it purported to in any sort of new or even realistic way. Actually, it made more salient points in regard to cell phone cameras, hate-based websites and personal responsibility. No, you don't get to kill people even if they were really, really mean to you.
As if that weren't enough, some jackass from Arkansas who is apparently the govenor and lost a bunch of wieght was on Colbert Report. Of course, people should feel free to lose wieght if they want to. But this a-hole has written a book hyping an archaic Dear Abby phrase. It is titled Quit Digging your Grave with a Knife and Fork. First of all, such a feat would take all day. Moreover, he is implying, once again, that being fat is deadly in and of itself. Science simply does not bear this out. Sedentary lifestyles are detrimental to your health, but it's pure assumption that all fat people lead them and that all thin people excersize. I know this is getting to be a tired topic around here, but such blatant misinformation is as pervasive as it is annoying.
So hey, TV, let's not fight. I less than three you.
But you gotta stop with all the lies.
Also, MySpace is stupid.
Am I missing something?
It just looks stupid. And who the hell is Tom?
