In a few minutes I'm going to get dressed all spiffy to go my interview at Comcast. I'm sure it will be positively comcastic. Or not. The job pays well and all, but it's hella expensive to get to, if the actual job is at the place where the interview is. I don't know what this town is thinking, not putting busses near all the jobs. So I have no clue if I'll even be able to take the job on the off chance that they offer it to me. But my job developer is driving me there and I have to go. I am told that they drug test at Comcast as well. This is bad for me, of course. Even if I didn't smoke for 6 months, I would still turn up positive because I am losing wieght, THC in the fat cells and all that there.

My computer didn't have any cool games on it until yesterday. I found a no-frills free solitaire I like. Plus I got this game that like Simon. In fact, it is Simon and you play it right on the computer. When I got my very first (and only other computer before this one) computer, it had this game on it called "Letter Invaders". Mind you, it was an Apple IIc, pronounced: (AP-pul-too-SEE). It's where letters fall from the top and you press them to make them go away. It was supposed to teach people how to type better and use home row keys which I don't think they even teach anymore. Anyway, the new version of Letter Invaders was really really hard. I'll let you know if I get better at it after I practice more.

Here's a think I learned at Snopes that says how you can disable your cell phone afteer someone has stolen it. But you have to do this beforehand. That Snopes!!

Alright dang it,

Where the sam heck is [livejournal.com profile] lirrin???

I was about to order jewelry from her.

Moving on to me, me, me news:
I just got home from my interview a little while ago.
So here's how it went.

I had to fill out a long application first, which I was very glad I remembered to bring a resume with me. I was truthful about my criminal history, because they had me sing a paper saying they would check. Then I almost had a panic attack on my way up these super tall stairs to wait for round one of the interview. But I had some water and felt okay.

The first part of the interview was six technical questions, of which I answered four reasonably correctly. Than were six customer service questions which I aced. But I thought I had done really poorly on the tech questions, and since it's a tech support position I felt really terrible and wanted to run out of there and go home. But I stayed, and it was good that I stayed, because it turns out that I made it to round two. That was one of those long personality tests and then another customer service interview. I think I did well in that one as well. And the cab ride was $25. So there's no way in hell I'd pay for it. If I did, it would be the same as making 1/3 as much money. Fie!!

I'm going to work with my job developing guy to see how they can help me with transportation. The people there seem very cool and freindly, so I imagine there will be folks for me to carpool with eventually. I'm also calling on another job tomorrow just in case this doesn't work out. It's a sweet job though, good wage, full benefits and 401K, and FREE CABLE!
