Another Nerd Moment

Last night at the shelter, I finished reading the book My Ishmael which is one of those books that makes one want to go live on an island with 30 hand picked people. Of course, I have a great attachment to my material things, and am not quite certain how the communal lifestyle would fit me. I do feel a lot of impatience and annoyance with other human beings much of the time.

My knee went out on me yesterday. It basically hurts from the ankle to the knee and a bit past. I look kind of foolish limping around, but I think if I just keep walking on it, I will work thru the pain. Usually, I'm not an advocate of working thru anything, much less pain. But in this case, I suspect that my leg's unwiliingness to do it's job stems from my unwillingness to excersize it properly. So I have only myself to blame. In related news, I am down another 3 pounds...slow and steady wins the race and all that. I'll be spending time off my feet working on character sheets for my screenplay and NaNoWriMo.

We have a new navigator for Comcast digital cable. It's fairly easy to use, and appears to have some new features i'll never bother to learn. The funny part is, the tutorial is still for the old system. So i call and I'm like "hey, you changed my system all around but there is no new tutorial for it?!?" and they are all like "Yes ma'am (which I hate being called ma'am) we don't have the new tutorial up yet. It won't be up for a few weeks. And I'm like "hey, isn't it kind of stupid to change the whole system and not tell anyone how to use it." and the lady was all..."I'm sure you'll get the hang of it in no time." To which I have to wonder--why bother making a tutorial at all if we're going to know the new system by the time it's ready. The answer: "well, its primarily for new users". Yeah...fuck all you loyal customers, we're only concerned with people who are paying those fly-introductory prices. And that is reason 908 why Comcast sucks and if I had any will power at all, I'd boycott them. Of course, that's the same thing i say about FOX.

I'm going to be very bored and lonesome for the next few days. So you local types should be calling, visiting, and inviting me to do stuff.
The person who invites me to the coolest thing will have the honor of my attendance at said thing. LOL

Oh, and I made a chain stitch that looks just like the one in the book.
