Just got home from seeing In the Cut. Not the freakfest i had been led to beleive it would be, although I did get to see Meg Ryan "naked and doin' it" as they say in those late night commercials for cheap-ass videos. I also got dinner bought for me for my birthday at the fast food establishment of my choosing. Sometimes i think I need to date a better class of fella on-the-side.
The movie was pretty good and I only sort of saw the ending coming. The guys saw master and Commander earlier in the week, and they said pretty much what I expected; sort of cool action fiolm with no real charaterization or plot. and no chicks. At least In the Cut had a good amount of sex and murder in it. I likes those. Good performances, but the characters made some strange choices that were not well explained. And none of the men in it were attractive really. Kevin Bacon wasn't even attractive, and his character was a total nutjob. Overall i liked the movie, but it was not worth all the hype that was thrown at it.

I don't like buying dime bags, I need a close dealer who is reliable and always holding. And nearer to my own age, please.

Also coloring my hair this week. I've decided that too many women are using fake looking purples and reds and most of them look like crap. not wanting to look crappy, I'm going to try something a bit more natural and darker. It is wintertime almost...time to go dark.

Tomorrow night will be Human Stain. I guess Anthony Hopkins is "passing" in it. I never knew there was such a thing until I saw it on Law & Order. Shows what I know I guess, anyway its supposed to be good. As i was telling someone earlier, that Nicole Kidman is starting to grow on me.
We're also getting Gothika which looks most promising.
I imagine I'll see that Monday, which is my birthday.

If you're the gift giving type, i will probably need some mixes for my new Queasy Bake Oven, which I hope I will get.

You are approaching the realms of fluffydom here...
possibly you have been mislead by reading too
many of the wrong kind of books. Possibly you
read some Crowley or some stuff on Chaos Magick
just to get a broader view of things. You don't
have to agree with what they say, and they
won't turn you onto the "dark path"
just by reading them.... unless, of course,
it's in accordance with your true will to be on
the "dark path"...... *evil laugh*

I can't help but notice that Food Network has shown turkey, stuffing and pie almost exclusively for the entire week. I mean, Good Glavin?!? Are that many people having the same thing for dinner next week? As for us, we had stir fry last year, and potato leek soup the year before that. this year we plan to be thankful with a pot of jambalaya and some jalapeno corn bread. That sounds good as heck to me, anyways...

I'll be working pretty much continuously thru the holiday weekend. We will probably get slaughtered, and it could prove to be a bunch of fun! We have a really good team at the theatre these days, and a good selection of films.

I'm feeling pretty nonplussed about my birthday, as i was trying to post earlier but my post kept disappearing over bad time codes or something...Anyway, I am either depressed at how little I've accomplished the past year; or stoked at how fun the year has been. I don't feel either of my typical birthday emotions this year...i wonder what it could mean. Of course, birthday aren't that important...I mean what are we really saying? "So glad you didn't die this year...here's a card." or "man, i'm so getting you drunk to celebrate another year of lving despite your unhealthy lifestyle."

And in case I'm not jaded enough, Quizilla to the rescue:
