Went to see Lost in LaMancha tonight (madstone theatre, Briarwood Mall).

What a downer. Actually, the documentary was well done, but the circumstances are just awful. For those who don't know, its the story of why Terry Gilliam couldn't make his movie of The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. It looked like the movei would have kicked ass, but all these terrible things happen. Let's just say the term "Force Majeur (sp?)" is bandied about quite a bit. The 3 giants are the high point of the film.

Today was also the first day of my full dosage of my new meds. The ones that dissolve and taste like orange. It's kind of suspicious that they taste like something, like its trying to trick me into thinking they are good. For inanimate objects, they are pretty sneaky come to think of it. I bet they're talking about me right now...

This may not be a good sign.
*holds microphone like flashlight* "I'd better investigate!"

And...

I was trying no to feel manic when suddenly:

YOU SHOULD NEVER DIE! You are, to put it
succintly, perfect. You are kind and
empathetic and you always think of others. You
are truthful and generous. People love you,
and you love them. You believe in giving
everyone a chance. You can change the world!!
You should also be god.
YOU SHOULD NEVER DIE!

should you die?

So see, its not all in my head...

Saw this film today at the Madstone. The popcorn with Southwest Cheddar is excellent. The film began late, don't know what's up with that...and the print was definately showing its age.

Several things are worth remarking about the film itself. First is that it contained many glaring errors, too many even to list here. Second is that there were a lot of people in the film I didn't expect. Warren Beatty and Faye dunaway are the title couple, with Gene Hackman as Clyde Barrow's brother. I knew all of that. But Estelle Parsons (roseanne's TV mom) as Hackman's wife, and Gene wilder as some guy they pick up, then leave in the middle of nowhere. tough luck there, Gene.
The third thing is that in many places in the film, love scenes for example, there is no music. Same with action shootout scenes and stuff. I think American audiences are used to being guided thru scnes by the music, and you are forced to look deeper and draw out your own conclusions when the music is minimal or missing. So I liked that very much. Lastly, the final scene with the barrage of bullets was truly excellent.
