As you will recall, my doctor came to the theatre last night to see Adaptation. He had some lady with him.

Turns out, he got fired from the Community Clinic where I see him. I go there because I am poor and can't afford a better place. But it is very unsettling to hear that your doc got fired. He was really cool too.

Isn't that wierd?

So I'm getting ready to leave the mall, I'm going to look for my ride (Uterdic) who is walking around. I see these little kids with no parents in sight, they are say, 13 or so, playing in the big Onstar car parked in the mall.

I walk by the kids and see a dollar on the ground. Being me, I look around for someone looking for a dollar then stick it in my pocket. As I walk away one of the kids says "Hey, we just put that money down as a joke to see who'd pick it up."

I think that's really stupid. I said "Well, now you know..."
and went on my merry way, one dollar richer than before.

So in short, there is the occasional advantage to working at the mall.

I just spent 90 minutes mesmerized by the Ric Burns (brother of other docu-guy Ken Burns) documentary: The Donner Party. In case the title doesn't give it away for you, it is about a large party of "settlers" who got stuck in the mountains on thier way to California and had to stay there the whole winter, in 1847.

Without going into lengthy and cannibalistic detail, it sucked to be them.

I bought the documentary on DVD having seen some of it on Cable in the Classroom awhile ago. It has some good vocal talent including George Plimpton, Francis Sternhagen, Amy Madigan and a few more people whose names I just forgot.

Anyway, if you're ghoulish like me, or just love history check it out.
Or don't. See if I care...
