The Divine Ms. Bates
Jun. 14th, 2002 08:22 pmJust when I thought I'd be resigned to a day of making jewelry and waiting for a job offer to call me, what should appear on my TV but Misery. Winning an Oscar for portraying a crazy chick who almost takes out Sonny Corleone is no small task. That Kathy Bates is a good one.
She is fucking brilliant, I must say. Plus the film has Francis Sternhagen, who has played every old woman since the late 60's. Well, expect the redheads who were of course played by Dame Maggie Smith. She's no Viveca Lindfors; I tell you what.
So I sit, stringing my beads and slowly coming to the realization that no job offers will come in until at least Monday. Dirty Birds!
Uh oh, it seems that the "profanity" is getting bleeped out of this movie. As if there are legions of children out there watching A&E on a Friday night waiting to get defiled by the phrase "Christing money". I think I'll put in the damn tape.
Who is it that decides that I can't hear naughty words unless I'm watching WWF (excuse me, WWE)? Where do I contact this guy and remove the stick from his ass? I have an FCC license, can't I decide? i wouldn't have let the "michael hunt" joke in Porky's get by me...I'm just saying...YOU MURDERED MY MISERY!!!!
