I got 'em ALL cut!

I got tired of growing my hair out "for the wedding" and decided to get about 3 inches lopped off the bottom. Rather a drastic change at this late date, but I'm just wearing a circlet so it will look fine regardless of my hair's length. It's not like a veil where hair becomes a huge issue. I think it looks good nice and short, and it's def more comfortable.

I had a day off today and didn't do much but sleep, go to Group, and get my hair cut. Now I'm watching Shark Week, which is my favorite week-long TV event of the year.

I have to start bringing my lunch to work. Problem is, I haven't done that ever in my adult life, and need ideas of what I should bring. Those of you who pack lunches, what do you pack? What if I only want to bring food that doesn't require refrigeration? We have a fridge, but I might not want to use it. What should I pack for lunch?

Did you hear they found a Coelecanth? Thanks to Kassy for the heads up on that. Woo Hoo, I'm seeing Kassy after work tomorrow, which will be swell.

We watched 300 last night. It was really good for a movie with such a thin plot. Lots of cool spectacle and some really fun villainy. It gets my reccomends, and we all know of my lingering distaste for action movies. Not as good as Gladiator, but different in enough ways to make it a really enjoyable watch. Those poor elephants!

Currently, I am packing a lunch that daily consists of the following:

Two bananas
One apple
One cereal bar
One whole wheat wrap with herbed tofu, (lightly sauteed with garlic and red pepper at night...I can do three days worth and keep that in the fridge so it's easy to make in the morning) alfalfa sprouts, avocado and havarti cheese.
One huge bottle of water
One thermos of ginseng tea.

De-frickin-lish. And no refridgeration necessary, really. I don't have one handy.

I'm not much of a tofu person, but the rest of that sounds very tasty. Whole Wheat pita & veggies is def going on my grocery list.

I forgot to mention that I always take a plastic thing of carrots and spinach because I love them.

You can skip the tofu but I use it for protein so I don't have to kill anything and cooking and keeping meat good is a drag. Tofu is easy and if there's other tasty stuff in there, who cares?

Oh! And I soak the tofu mixture in tampari soy sauce w/ ginger. Mmm!

You can take anything from the very convenient Hot Pockets, to cans of soup. With teh sink there, if you have soup, you can wash the bowl when you're done. I used to take enough for the short 15 minute breaks, and the 30 minute lunch. If someone will drive, the party store up the street has great pizza by the slice. Jimmy John's delivers there as well. Do they still allow ordering out?

Yeah they do. But as i recall from the 'Stone, that can get costly really quickly. I'm already cabbing it to work, so I shouldn't be ordering lunch out as well. I suppose I could take frozen food. I want to take a lunch box, but all my lunch boxes are too nice for work.

Get a cheap violin case and keep sandwiches in it. :-)
That'd confuse the hell out of 'em.

I'll take fresh cut veggies sometimes. A girl that works next to me has microwave popcorn a lot.

btw - pleasure to see you!

It was nice to see you too. I was so tired I forgot to show you my dress.

I really want to believe 300 is a good movie since everybody I know who's seen it seems to love it. However, all the footage I've seen makes it look really boring to me. I'm not a big action movie fan for sure, but even a lot of summer blockbusters with thin stories are watchable when I'm in the right frame of mind. The endless battle sequences of 300 just look unendurably tedious to me.

I came close to finding it boring in parts. One of the battles found me making popcorn during it. I'd still say it's worth a watch.
