Dang diddly do darn CRAP!

I'm sure you will all remember the awesome dresses I found online and posted about earlier in the week?
They were from different websites, and everyone, myself included preferred the amazing blue one.

Well, as my luck would have it, their website has vanished and not come back since the night I posted that. Fie!
So I had to begin the exhaustive search for another dress. And then...I remembered a site where I used to look longingly at their dresses even though I couldn't possibly spend over $100 for one dress for any occasion. For those who don't know, 85% of my dress array comes from Lane Bryant online, which is where pretty much all poor fat girls shop if they're too old for Torrid. But for a wedding, I can spend a bit on a dress and not feel awful.

Anywhoo...
Dress #3 Dress #3

I like this one as well, and it solidifies my desire to get married in a blue dress. Not really sure why it's so important except that blue is a good color for me and represents my awesome power of Think.

Other wedding news includes [livejournal.com profile] lirrin who is making me a circlet to wear for a bargain basement price. I haven't decided if I'm going to make a besom or buy one. I found some cool ones online that cost probably about the same as the materials to make one--like $10 for an 18 inch one.

In less fun news, our ant problem is back with a vengeance. They are little ants, centrally located in what is ironically the cleanest counter in my kitchen. It would make sense if they were all over the toaster, or maybe the cat food. But no, they want to crawl on food processor blades or clean mixer parts. Dammit! Maintenance is getting a good yelling at tomorrow and the damn bug spray guy is coming back.
It's possible that JoJo ate the bundle of hot pepper, vinegar and garlic that was keeping the ants away. He was sick for a few days and then got better later. Then the ants came back. So I have to wonder if they are connected. Or could it be connected to turning the heat on? I have no clue, except that their arrival is sudden and intense. There are a lot of fucking ants in there. Aren't they supposed to be dead? It's October, after all...

That said, please enjoy this picture of me at [livejournal.com profile] madush69 and [livejournal.com profile] purplecat_a2's wedding.
Aren't I cute?!?

Oh, settle a conflict for me:

Is the "Yellow Book" they give out the real (meaning original under a new name) phone book, or is it something else?
It has the "fingers do the walking" logo on the front, but it is not R with circle or TM.

That is a GORGEOUS dress! And looking at the pic of yourself you posted, it looks like it'll be a flattering colour and style for you. Add the circlet and it'll really bring up the regal effect :)

As for the Yellow Book/Yellow Pages thing, I think it's all very confused right now. I'm not even sure the original "Yellow Pages" exists as such anymore. Several years ago (like maybe 15 or more) I worked at a company that published phone books, and we worked with a... thing (never figured out if it was a publisher's association, a company itself, an advertising agency or what) called the National Yellow Pages Association (NYPSA - no, I don't know where the "S" comes from, either). We'd get order forms from our company's NYPSA department (that served as the liason to NYPSA) and that's what we put into the various local-area books we got. All of those books, though, were called Mast Phone Books, not Yellow Pages books, but we had the little fingers-do-the-walking symbol on our books, too.

So, I kind of got the feeling that the actual Yellow Pages company was really more of an advertising seller which then placed its ads in books which were then published by other companies. I think "Yellow Book" may be just one such publisher - but it HAS been a long time, and I have no idea what changes may have occurred in the meantime as to how phone books are put together.

Thanks! The more I look at the dress, the more I like it.

Yellow Pages does seem more like a collection of ads than anything else. We got a Yellow Book left on our door, but I see no reason to actually keep it.
