In case you've never seen a cookie before:

I made cookies. They look like this. Pic by me, [livejournal.com profile] wednes.

Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookies w/Butterscotch Chips
Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookies w/Butterscotch Chips

You can see, I will need to master the fine art of cookie rotation during baking. I ate one though, they are delicious!

These are actually the tastiest oatmeal cookies I've ever made. I got the recipe from what I can only describe as a religious cookie website (I did the second recipe from the top). I'm doing 3 oat based things this year for my holiday force-feeding...oh, I mean gift giving. I'm also doing blueberry oat bread and chocolate peanut granola with banana and coconut. Then I just have choco-peanut butter chip cookies, chocolate orange bread and peanut butter fudge for the locals. Oh, and coconut jam cookies; some cherry, and some peach because those are the good jams I bought this time around. Last year I did strawberry and lemon.

He's missin out, but yes! I have an amazing cookie recipe which includes honeydew matcha and cashew butter and smiles upon smiles! Yay for parties!!! I'll bring my own soy nog to spike, since I've decided not to go straight edge and all. I had the best chocolate flavored beer today at Seva! Just thought I'd let ya know, homie!

cant wait to see ya! Happy Yule(I don't remember if that's the name or not for the pagan holiday, I think that's what its called in my Wiccan books...)

Yule is just fine. Solstice is also fine, but a few days earlier. Myself, I like the togetherness, and sometimes buying gifts is fun. I'd rather give cookies & such. People love cookies and such.

For you, I was thinking of baklava.
You likee the baklava? It's the only vegan dessert I can do.

Not fond of baklava, but I can bring something, so dont worry about it. Unless you really want me to send you a recipe to experiment with.

Upon looking over my recipes, I see that my granola recipe is vegan if I leave out the chocolate. So you'll prolly get a bit of that to take home.

I think you should give my baklava a chance though. I make it rolled, lemon style. It's an Emeril recipe, but it's still prtty cool.

How does the recipe substitute Honey, with maple syrup?

OK, I'll try the baklava, Ill try anything once... Emeril, a vegan recipe, really???

Bam!

Yes, I have alwasy used real maple syrup instead of honey. I'm not a great fan of cooked honey. And when I do the phyllo, I use olive oil instead of butter. It's not reeally noticable, because the syrup is quite flavorful.

wow, you're like a vegan's best friend, lol

I love cheesburgers too much to be a vegans best friend, but I may well become a beloved hostess.
