It's French, Bitch!

I cna honestly say that I was very pleased with the debut episode of The Colbert Report. I imagine it will undergo a bit of tweaking here and there, but the Stone Phillips interview was awesome. I'm sure we'll be seeing a book of Colberts made up words out soon enough. I'm also sure it will be most trustigious.

In Consumer Product Watch news, here are some new products I like:

First off, I am digging my new toothbrush. My old Oral B spinny toothbrush lasted about 3 years. This news one spins around and also goes back and forth. Plus, it only takes one battery instead of 2.

Yoplait chocolate yogurt whips are also a low fat way to get your chocolate on. Not very filling, but very sweet and tasty, and with those live acidopholus cultures every body needs.

Ground chicken. It's my new favorite thing. We switched from ground sirloin to ground chicken. You can do all the same stuff with it, but it will be slower to kill you. Hint: sprinkle on plenty of paprika and a hint of salt. For burgers, add some finely chopped onions for moisture. Yummy!

As for me, I got some new dress shirts, underthings, and my last dress I ordered in tha mail. Whee! Now I have a reasonable wardrobe for when I am employed. That will be good, now all I need is a job. My Avon is taking forever to get here. I hate waiting, I should have just paid the damn shipping.

The unrated edition of Land of the Dead comes out today. It's list price is $30, which I surely will not be spending on it. However, Blockbuster won't have unrated ones for sale pre-viewed as far as I know. If anyone sees it for under $20, do let me know.

Plus, do we know what we're going for Halloween yet?

I used an electric toothbrush for about a month. It drove me crazy. I totally tried so hard to like it but I'm back with my manual soft bristles.

I guess I just like the vibrations...no real secret there!

;-}

I'm thinking about being either SG1 or a crime scene investigator. I know which would be cheaper to do, but I haven't yet figured out which is cooler.

Land of the Dead. $18.98. Free shipping.

I order from them all the time. Just takes an extra day or two for the shipping, but worth it.

Nice. I will probably end up doing that unless Columbia House offers me some sweet deal!

Columbia House won't save you any money, because to get free shipping from them you need to buy the double-disc set of Barry Manilow: In Concert.

*shudder*

:P~

LOL

Actually they have 2 deals right now. One is buy one at regualr price (which is around $20) and get unlimited DVD's for half off. If I order 3 things, I get free shipping. Since I already want LotD and High Tension, I might as well get Batman Begins or something while I'm there.

wednes <3 Barry Manilow. :P~ :P~ :P~ :P~ :P~

Boy, I loooooooooooooooooooooove the trailer to High Tension.

Boy, I loooooooooooooooooooooove the movie, all up until "that moment". *grumble* *grumble* *stoopid copout filmmakers* *grumble*

I'm trying to get up the gumption to go see The Fog. I have very fond memories of the first one, though I don't think a remake was warranted.

Is it only me, but don't you think it was an ironic casting director that cast Selma Blair in Andrienne Barbeau's roll? *hahaha* Makes me laugh thinking about it, but then I'm a pervert. :P~

I still have not seen High Tension, but I have heard many complaints about the ending. I figured I'd just buy it, rather than rent and incur a fee or whatever.

I have not heard good things about the new Fog. I am usually reticent to pay to see any PG13 horror movie; it is almost invariably dumbed down to appeal to teenagers. I'm looking past Selma Blair though, right to a shirtless Tom Welling.

Mmmmmm...Tom Welling...

A lot of people tell me I look exactly like Tom Welling, except my penis is muuuuuuch larger!

Now you know. :P~

So...what time should I be over?

Tom Welling and the Incredible One-Eyed Monster

My penis says, "Now".

Don't forget, I'm on Eastern Penis Time, baby.

Jeremy said if we give him a heads up on a party he might be able to request off....

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-18 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I was sorta hoping you guys would be up for another bonfire. That was so much fun, and we can all bring stuff!

[identity profile] klynnfrost.livejournal.com 2005-10-18 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course we would, we were only worried that it would be too cold and people wouldn't want to come.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-18 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
At the risk of sounding hostile; Fuck Them!!

I'll be there, you just name the time.

excerpt from today New York Times review on the Land of the Dead disc:

Land of the Dead

Of the recent theatrical releases making their DVD debuts this season, the most significant is George A. Romero's "Land of the Dead," the fourth title in the epic cycle Mr. Romero began in 1968 with "Night of the Living Dead." The "unrated director's cut" ($29.98), which Universal Home Entertainment is releasing today, is four minutes longer than the R-rated theatrical version that appeared in June (that cut, too, is available), though a quick first inspection suggests that no significant new scenes have been added, just a bit more gore.

Now you know.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-18 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah...that's usually the way it is with the undead. No more plot really, but some gore.

Being a hardcore zombie fan, my collection will feel unfinished if I don't have that extra 4 minutes of bloody carnage. I mean, I have like 6 different version of Night of the Living Dead.

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2005-10-18 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I was quite pleased with the color version you showed me. The sign on the edge of the road approachnig the cemetery, the car, alot of things looked very realistically colorful.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-18 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
The beginning is pretty good. But they seem to have forgotten that much of night was shot "day for night" so several of the outside night shots look like broad daylight. Plus the old farmhouse furniture all looks new and shiny, which is not very realistic.

But as they say..."they scream louder in color".

[identity profile] haroeris-astrum.livejournal.com 2005-10-19 11:57 am (UTC)(link)
I must confess that I didn't think much of Land of the Dead - To date my favourite zombie film is children of the living dead

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-19 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh dear...

CotLD is widely regarded as one of the worst zombie films of all time...right up there with House of the Dead and Night of the Creeps.

Although Sci Fi's recent offerings, the latest 2 sequels to Return of the Living Dead are quite abysmal as well.

[identity profile] haroeris-astrum.livejournal.com 2005-10-20 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
The film is hilarious - I particularly roared at that smelly chap who runs the hotel. Even worse, I have the DVD with a choice picture gallery

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-20 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
I consider myself a hardcore zombie fan. But now I see that you sir, are more hardcore than I.
