I thought about going to bed, but it's not like I have to work tomorrow!

Anyway, I was looking online for computer accessories, in anticipation of owning my first computer soon. For those of you who don't know, I use my roomate's computer and before that I used H's. But H is not very good about sharing his computer, so I'm trying to buy a mac mini before uterdic

moves out. Anyway, he has this really sweet Kensington track ball that works great, never gets sticky or dusty, and has a great hand feel. The problem? The fucking thing costs almost $100. For a trackball! I for one am outraged!

Now I ask you, is this what I can expect from the world of computer ownership--that I will constantly want expensive things for it, and that getting a cheaper alternative will slowly but surely drive me insane? I don't mean regular computers of course, I mean Macs.

Psst.

Yeah, Macs are owned by the wealthy.

Oh if only you knew what you were talking about.

For example, top of the line Mac and it's PC equivalent: PC is $1500 more, and it's not as fast as the Mac.

Second, I am kind of the exact opposite of wealthy.

Well, I can get everything I want on a Mac mini for less than I'd pay for any other system. It's just that there are so many cool add on's that even someone like me, who is not a huge gamer will still want some of them. I mean, just having imovie will be enough to make me want a digital movie camera.

Macs are owned not so much by the wealthy, but by the discerning.

I miss you girlie!!! YOur very first computer. Pretty cool! Could be addicting. I always by cheap. Like my mouse was only 10 dollars, my mouse pad $2, web cam like 20 dollars. I don't go for the expensive stuff unless I have to. I guess I am a cheapie and that is why Wal-mart is my friend!!! LOL. Goood luck though. Plus always get the extended warranty incase something goes wrong. Another thing is don't buy a computer and then 3 months the place goes out of business. That = totally BAD!!

I have no-where to send them. So I thought Third World - Not only would I need to pay to send them but I would need to pay to get rid of them if they did not work on arrival. Ever wondered why the Third World is really so backward?
