What I've been Feasting my Peepers on:

My week off has been just delightful thusfar. Lots of time spent with H, with friends, working on the podcast, and watching TV and films. Catching up on Criminal Minds, which has been just delightful. Hotch is my main man...though an erie fascination with Dr Reid cannot be denied. *sigh* Plus I love Garcia--so damn cute! Been editing and getting some recording done. Also caught up with some friends, and more to come. Waiting to hear from userinfolachupacabra about a visit today. Dinner with Sara tomorrow after my psyche appointment. Lunch with userinfokissdbyagnome on Friday. Back to work on Saturday followed by lunch with userinfoklynnfrost. Sunday I'm meeting a potential vocal actor for the podcast, followed by cartoons. Then Monday, back to work at the rate of 3 days a week through July. Woot!

H and I scored a copy of The Box which I mentioned in an earlier post. I found much to like about it, moreso than H I daresay. Decent characters, solid performances, Frank Langella was creepy as hell. I think they spent a bit too much time on filler that didn't really go anywhere, but the commentary on humanity was well played. And it's another in a long line of movies where a certain actor does NOT get the girl in the end.

And of course, last night was the long awaited Jacob-centric episode of LOST.

Sooo...the "heart of the island" is also the Light of the World (a oft use reference to Jesus, in case you didn't know). That yellow light is what Locke saw in season 2 (or 1, but I think it was 2) when the smoke monster takes him and he is unafraid. Jack told him not to go with Smokey and Locke, being a man of faith believed that Smokey was okay and could be trusted. Yeah...so that was totally setting us up for everything that's happening now. Jack and Locke have been at odds since season 1, and now they are again. Jack has also been ad odds with Sawyer quite a little bit. And a lot of people's arcs will be coming to a close.

Obviously, Damon and Lindehoff knew at that point that the smoke monster was a person. A person who needed a body, and that said body would eventually be John Locke. Whaddaya know? John Locke always had a destiny, and a purpose, even if he didn't realize it by the time he died. Go LOST.

Jacob's brother (whom we will call Broham henceforth) still has no name. I can only assume that's because his name is relevant. OR that he is so eternal that he doesn't actually get a name--which is unlikely IMO, since Jacob has one. I am firmly on Team Jacob (yes, LOST fans are co-opting that reference away from middle-aged, soccer-mom, borderline pedophile, "Vampire" fans.) and also think that's he's just dreamy. Jacob doesn't lie, and his Broham doesn't seem to know how to tell the truth to anyone but Jacob. There's also some strong nature versus nurture happening.

Chicanery afoot: Broham's body found in the cave with Alison Janney (awesome, BTW as some sort of Kali meets Gaia figure--though if she turned out to be Taimat, I would laugh my ass off) despite Broham walking around in that same form after his bodily death. Ditto John Locke, so what gives?

The kid they cast to play young Jacob looked freakishly like him. It would not surprise me to learn that JJ Abrams actually has a time machine. If so, I want the Cloverfield sequel like, yesterday.

The line "I could give you an answer but it would only lead to more questions" totally made me LOL.

BOTH brothers are trapped, not just one. Broham can't leave, and Jacob created Smokey.

I predict:
Jack will be the new Jacob
Sawyer will be the new Smokey/Locke.
Hurley will be the new Richard.
The scene of Jacob gently laying his mother in the cave will be re enacted when Kate dies and Jack carries her body to that same cave.
There will be new "Others" who protect the Island. My guess: Miles, Rose, Bernard, and Vincent (the new Joop *snerk*) who may all get to be immortal.
Widmore, Kate, Eliose Hawking, and Ben Linus will die. (Unless it is actually Ben and Widmore who are the new Jacob and Broham, but that would have wasted a whole lot of our time)
Aaron, Ji Yeon, and possibly Walt will end up on The Island eventually.
Jacob is hot, and I would brave the Smoke Monster for him. Not a prediction, I'm just stating it as a fact.
And of course, me wantee polar bear!

In sad news, Robert Downey Jr is a huge republican now. WTF happened?

Oh, right on!

I'm not so sure that Jacob is a good guy. He seems naive, and overly trusting, while Broham (I call him Esau), seems like a realist, which I like. And Jacob did kill his brother (so it seems), which isn't really something a good guy does. Jacob is hotter, though.

I've pretty much resigned myself to white=good, black=bad in overall symbolism (I know, I'm such a racist! *snerk*). But yes, it is certainly possible that Jacob will turn out to be bad. I'm thinking not though, mainly because Broham is a liar, and so is The Devil.

As to hotness, there's really no contest!

i dont know what i think about lost anymore, but im still captivated every episode. which is what i ultimately care about. and when it comes down to jacob vs broham, id do them both, at the same time ;)

That would be an excellent fan vid. I'll watch YouTube for it!
