I'm sorry you had to see me like that.

Spent the day sending out the last of my press releases for the new book and book release party. I'm pretty excited for my splashy event. Tomorrow I'm going to check out the space, talk about formatting for the music, and figuring out what kind of signage and accessories I'll need to acquire. H is standing by to make me some signs and such. And I'm going to give out the bookmarks I made for the Vampire Ball since I still have a jillion left.

I'm officially a fan of Krusteaz mixes. Every one I've tried has been fantastic, whether I've made it as is or made additions. Gets my highest recommends. I've done the lemon bars and turned them into lemon cheesecake bars per instructions on the box. I've made their strudels and brownies, and last night made the pecan bars. They are very easy to make, require roughly the same stuff as a Duncan Hines/Betty Crocker cake mix, and are really delicious.

A whole lotta recap, some weirdness, a little bit of realization, and most of the characters I love. Why Boone but no Shannon? Zak and Emma was a wild surprise, and finding out that Jacob's enemy is also the smoke monster? Nice. Is Sayid the new Jacob? Who is "coming?" Clearly there are at least two entities on The Island who need new bodies every now and again. And no one, but NO ONE should lay hands on Richard Alpert. Wednes no like. Actually, I didn't realize how strongly I felt about that until it actually happened.

Overall though, it was not the explosive, informative premiere I wanted. It didn't really set the stage for anything (of course, who knows what info introduced last night will prove valuable later on?). It does appear that everyone on The Island is in the present tense now. Or are they? Pierre Chang appears to be dead and rotting just outside The Temple. Ben Linus looks like more of a pawn than ever.

Best line of the evening: "I don't like the way English tastes on my tongue."

Will John stay crippled, Charlie go to prison, Kate to jail, and Rose die in the future? Who the hell knows. Will Juliet get to live in the future? That would be nice.

Is that dependent on whether or not V is coming back? FYI, I did not care for V. I can tell you that moving LOST to Tuesday's is totally messing with my week.

Caprica is fantastic. Very well written, strong cast; they're setting us up for some great drama later on. If you get near it, do give it a watching.

I made a new soup I've never made before. I combination of Ragu double cheese sauce, chicken stock, and veggies. We did a mexican thing with ground beef, tons of sweet peppers, white corn, black beans and tomatoes. Then we added broccoli and kale, and some real cheese. Fabbo! Really, super good. Got the recipe in [livejournal.com profile] s0ups_on which is a fun little comm.

I'm actually pretty happy about the move to Tuesdays, as that is the only day of the week that I never work after 9am and therefor will always be able to see it. Brian, on the other hand, always has Wednesdays off and has to work every other Tuesday night. At least it isn't a night when we both work, so there will always be someone home to record it.

I admit I was a bit skeptical with the whole island/Atlantis thing before the first commercial break, but after that the premiere grew on me. I definitely yelled at the TV a few times (WTF bringing Juliet back just to have her die again?!), and I definitely have to watch it over to catch some things that I missed before. I haven't decided whether or not I thought it was a good episode yet.

Yeah, I won't know if I liked it for a couple more weeks.

I've always been a fan of the Krusteaz. Never had a bad experience.

I was thinking no Shannon because she died, but then there was Charlie, but he was supposed to die and Jack saved him... I'm eager to see how this parallel time thing works out.

And when it's all over, I'm going to get all the eps on BlueRay and watch them over a weekend.

Well, the guy who got a flaming arrow through the chest was also on the plane. Had Walt been on the plane, we'd have a much clearer idea of what was happening when--but that would be too damn easy. And of course, Boone and Locke were also dead.

True.
