D'ja hear? A bunch of stuff's been happening.

There has been much craziness in the world of Wednes lately--and further craziness in the world at large. So let us begin:

I'm having a splashy Book Release Party on February 23rd in the Year of Our Lord Two-Thousand Ten. Common Language Bookstore is buying a bunch of copies of my book for the signing and selling. There will be wine and hors d'ouvres, and I'll be reading from Kiss Me Like You Love Me. There will also be a Q&A which means that if you're going to be there, please PLEASE ask a question so that there is not a long, awkward silence. So yeah, I'm nervous and excited and pretty stoked about that.

Scott Roeder is guilty, and totally unrepentant. No way, right? Only took the jury 37 minutes to find that fucker guilty. He gets to live, and continue spouting his nonsense. It's probably best that he be able to go on ranting like a crazy person, lest anyone take him seriously. Although I do consider him a domestic terrorist, and find it amazing how many people don't see that violence for the express purpose of causing fear is terrorism. *sigh*

J.D. Salinger. Like most depressed teens, I loved this book. I'm still baffled at how many murderers it inspired. Fascinating. I've already discussed this on the Facebook, but I will not be at all pleased if a film version of Catcher in the Rye is allowed to happen. I want to go on the record as being against ANY attempt at this by ANYONE. And you know if they did it it would have a bunch of terrible overhead narration. If you're not Blade Runner or American Beauty, you can STFU with overhead narration. That said, if there really are a bunch of unpublished manuscripts, I'd love to read them. If it turns out those manuscripts were actually published under the pseudonym "Stephanie Meyer," I do not ever want to know. So don't tell me. For realsies.

Work. I like my job, and enjoy my company. I know, that's what I always say. I'm feeling strongly that I should be the one writing the bulk of the catalog. The copy could use a sprucin' up in my opinion, and I'm just the man for the job, so to speak. It would be good for my company, and good for me. I sent the VP of sales an Email, and after catching a hilarious but potentially explosive typo in some copy of our new Negri brand cases. I'll let you's work that out by yourselves.

When I was in college, a dear friend and extremely talented musician wrote a song about lil' ol' me. He even let me contribute a verse. If you wanna hear it, it's actually available on his MySpace, which you can find here. I think you'll be able to tell which song it is.

State of the Union address. I was working. I didn't watch it. From what I hear, it wasn't anything remarkable or unexpected. I'm trying to step back from politics a bit as I can't be angrying up my blood all the time. And this Corporations as people business is pissing me off. Money is not speech. That's why paying someone for sex is legally different than talking them into it.

I'm taking in some editing work, I owe some people some book reviews. I haven't started podcasting yet, and I've done fuck all on my newest novel. Writing about zombies should totally fire me up, but I'm so damn busy with other things. As I get stuff done this weekend, I'm recording season two of Tru Blood. It was pretty good. Speaking of TV, Big Love has been great thusfar. I love the way they are developing this subplot with Albee. And of course, LOST is back on Tuesday. Yay!

When I do have some free time, I will be spending at least one afternoon attempting to make myself something similar to this:

A college classmate of mine told me he had some difficulty posting on Amazon. But he was posting from Afghanistan, so I'm assuming that may be part of the problem. I'm also stoked to hear your thoughts on the book.
