Shaking the booty, or thereabouts...

I think I'm having some sort of bachelorette thing tonight. I don't know for sure, but my Maid of Honor is driving to Michigan as we speak, and will be here within hours to get me loaded. Not that I really need to mark the occasion of my nuptuals with loadedness. It's more of an homage to the loadedness of my youth, and my transformation away from loadedness and toward reality. As such, I'll be having a drink or two. Mmmmm...amaretto. and of course, we shall smoke.

H's mom gets into town tomorrow, when I'll be meeting her for the first time. I also have to shop for the fruit and veggie trays for some reason, and buy more soda. I went to *gasp* Walmart yesterday for soda, only because I wanted to pay the lowest price possible. I don't actually support them or anything they do or stand for. Anyway, they were out of cases and 12-packs of coke. And I'll be damned if I'm gonna buy freakin' 8-packs for a whole wedding because they couldn't be bothered to keep up stock.

I painted my nails this sparkly pink color. I thought I was really going to like it. It's a fun, hot pink in the bottle, but on my hands it's more of a salmon. It actually clashes with my ring. Sparkly salmon isn't really what I was going for here, so I'll probably take it off and use something I've already got around here. Or maybe I'll just do my toes and leave my fingernails alone. I don't normally wear polish anyway, I just thought it would be cool for the wedding and pics. It feels very heavy on my fingers, and out of place.

I still have no idea at all what to do with my hair.
Somebody offer to help, please!

Sparkly salmon is not what anybody wants. Eww. I think that a french mani is the way to go for weddings. Somebody will probably take a picture of your hand, so it should look nice. At least some clear polish to make your nails shiney.
About your hair... Do you have a headpiece? A veil? Just hair? It probably depends on your dress whether it should be up or down....
I know that doesn't help, but I also know H is going to think you are the most beautiful bride ever, no matter how you wear your hair.

I sure hope so...

I'm wearing a really cool headpiece with no veil. I think I'm going to put it partially up and leave some ringlets out or something.

Don't worry about your hair and/or nails. It'll be a beautiful day, and you'll be beautiful in the eyes of the man who wants to spend the rest of his life with you! Really--no matter what your nails or hair look like! Also--

went to *gasp* Walmart yesterday for soda, only because I wanted to pay the lowest price possible. I don't actually support them or anything they do or stand for.

I've done it too, since leaving the full-time job. I felt so guilty walking in the door of that place, with its reliance on underpaid foreign labor and its anti-union and anti--small business stance. But I did find a cheap pair of pants for my son, which we actually had trouble finding in other stores. I hope that I won't give into any temptation to go there again, but I do understand the pull of cheap stuff.

Thanks, and thanks.

I really do feel better now. It's amazing the tiny things I let give me stress when I have so many bigger things to worry about.

amaretto is always the way to go!...amaretto sours or amaretto stone sours are my standard drink...

it's amazing that you've never met H's mom yet...I hope everything goes well...

and of course, I hope everything goes well with the wedding!...

Thank you so much.

I daresay the amaretto was yummy, we had it with coke.

hmm...I'm trying to think if I've had that combo before, and I think I did...it was a while ago...I'll have to try it again :)

When I was young and crazy, I used to drink it with Mountain Dew. Mmmmm...

I think a french twist, or a twisted bun with a slightly messy end would look beautiful on you. Or have your hair pulled up in back with curly tendrals hanging down with sparkly clips in your hair:)

That's an idea. Thanks!
