Things that kick ass:

The lovely [livejournal.com profile] smarbaby brought over some mock ups for my wedding invites today. They are awesome. I did not imagine I would have such classy, attractive invites.

The Joker from the new Batman movie looks fantastic and creepy as shit.

My dear [livejournal.com profile] lickingtoad loaned a copy of 300 today so I'll finally get to see it.

It kicked ass for many reasons: Sayid's sweep kick and killing of that one Other; the realization that there is some kinda time travel shit going on (the descrepancy about Jack's Dad being alive for one thing); Hurley driving in and saving everyone; Jin, Bernard, and Sayid being saved; Rousseau and Alex finally uniting; Locke walking again; the appearance of Walt (although would it have killed Harold whatsisname from making an appearance?). Maybe Carl and Juliet won't have to be killed? Maybe we'll find out what the hell Ben was talking about.

I don't think Ben is going to live much further into the next season. I also don't see why the show has to run for six seasons when it could totally be wrapped up in five based on the number of eps they have planned. Still and all, it was an awesome finale. And the pre show show was illuminating as well, actually addressing certain questions and eloquently summing things up for us. Oh yeah, and I heart Michael Emerson.

Happily, I don't have anything important to do all weekend except work on The Cat's Apprentice which I am finally starting to get a handle on.

Since H bought me some, I scrubbed my class ring with jewelery cleaner. It looks amazing.

[livejournal.com profile] paulcurtis sent me a bunch of cool tunes by Barnes and Barnes, which if you don't know is a band featuring Bill Mumy from the old Twilight Zone shows and Lost in Space and stuff. They are best known for the Dr Demento hit song "Fish Heads" which is hilarious. I had no idea that they had other stuff, but now I own a goodly amount of it. Thanks, Paul.

There is a town called "Truth or Consequences" and it's in New Mexico.
I just think that's awesome.

Hostel 2 comes out soon.

For some reason, I find myself fascinated by the idea that the Caveman from the Geico commercial are getting their own show. I want it to be really, really funny though I know it won't be.

I guess that episode counts as someone punching jack in the face really hard. But why was Kate done up like some painted jezebel?

I think the idea is that she isn't wearing makeup on the Island, but when she gets back to civilization she is. They have to make her look more made-up than normal so you can tell the difference.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-05-24 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Too true, because you KNOW she isn't doing LOST without any makeup on. Even Sayid has eyeliner on.

*swoon* Sayid.

That's probably how Future-Sawyer likes her.

And I've been there! : )

Cool.

Do they have cool souveneiers? Hell, MI has cool stuff you can buy after visiting their weirdly named town.

I don't know. It's been a while since I've been through. I bet they do. If I remember right, though, the town voted to name itself after the game show. It's in the middle of nowhere (yeah, I know--New Mexico itself is in the middle of nowhere) between Albuquerque and Las Cruces.

(Ooh! I did remember right!)

Which is MI's weirdly named town? (There's only one?)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-05-24 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I think Hell, MI is the weirdest town name, but some people think Kalamazoo is a funnier word so it gets preference.
Bad Axe is also a funnily named Michigan Town, as is Climax (seriously). So yeah, I guess we have a handlful.

I know Kalamazoo. It even has a song! The others have a certain ring, though. Climax would fit well with Intercourse, PA. ; )

*snerk*

Really? H never told me that, and he's from Philly.

T'is true! It's in Amish country. I won't comment on the nearby town of Blue Ball. ; )

Hahahahahaa!

geico cavemen

[identity profile] hobby-circle.livejournal.com 2007-05-25 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
I heard about the Geico caveman deal from my honey - he watches CNN and such in the morning - one day he saw a ticker that said NBC or another station was picking up the Geico caveman sitcom. What the F??? we both thought. I refused and refused to believe it and still do. Let it not be!

I think it has the potential to be really funny, but in reality, it's going to be a bunch of cheap, crappy writing and the same gag over and over.

But I maintain that it could be funny.
