Bored

I have a job interview tomorrow to do office work for a local plumbing place. It's right around the corner from my place, full benefits and all good things, right? Turns out, they are moving their office in a few months to someplace where the bus doesn't go. I'm going on the interview anyway, just for practice and to make sure it's a hopeless deal. I also sent out two resumes today with my sharp new cover letter.

Later tomorrow I'm getting a haircut, shopping for the wedding at Michael's, and cooking falafel for us and some friends. I love falafel. Excited to get a haircut, I've been needing one for a while. Might follow it up with some do-it-yourself color. Some nice brown from Garnier sounds tasty. I used to always die my hair some kind of red or maroon, but I feel like I'm getting a little old for that. Besides, you never know what kind of place will offer me a job next. You can't have crazy hair in some places, even in Ann Arbor.

My book interview is up at NaNoWriMo. You can download it for free and tell me if I sound silly. I'm going to listen to it after I post this. Hopefully I don't sound too ridiculous.

EDIT: Turns out, Tavia did a great job with the editing. I sound very natural and intelligent.
Wheee! We barely talked about the novel itself though. Oh well.

I've never made falafel, is it hard? Do you make it from scratch or have some kind of mix? Just curious.

I use the mix and just dress it up a bit with extra garlic, lemon and sesame oil. No, it's not hard at all.

You just make the mix, let it rest for 15 minutes, then form it into little balls (heh hehe) and fry it on medium until it's crunchy. I serve mine with a yogurt and cucumber sauce, just like for gyros.

That doesn't sound too hard, I'll have to try it. Now I have a craving for falafel

I listened to you interview, it sounded great! I can totally picture you reading Harry Potter in your PJs. Plus, you gave some good information on what writers can expect when submitting their manuscripts for publication. You rock!

Hey thanks. I was really pleased with how the interview sounded. Believe me when I tell you they cut out a fair amount of rambling. ;-]

I waws thinking about getting a haircut but I never manage to maintain it or my eyebrows when I get them done. I bought tweezers that were supposed to be awesome but they suck - maybe it's just my vision. I think they were supposed to be more precise? I dunno.

Ann Arbor's an interesting area - in some places, anything goes and in other places it's like, "ohmigod, you have a tiny little microscopic stud in your nose, we'll NEVER hire you!" On a strange note, I worked for Barnes and Noble back in "98 and I wasn't allowed to have an eyebrow ring. Oddly, the café people (who got a check from the same place and worked in the same place) were allowed to. Huh?
