What a happy day!! (cue music)

Greetings friends,

I thought I'd post a brief note telling you of my good fortune. Right here on LJ, I came across someone selling VHS tapes of a bunch of movies I do not have. So soon, I shall be the proud ownder of:

I Spit on Your Grave (not to be confused with "I Thumb Thru Your Magazines")
New York Ripper
The Beyond
Last House on the Left (Uncut bootleg)
and Cannibal Holocaust (ditto)

Some of these are Italian, all of them are truly horrific and lousy with gore.
I am totally stoked!!!!!

Revel in your jelousy, friends.

I Spit On Your Grave, good choice.

Last House On The Left, Fucking awful. I've not seen a movie so bad, in... well... forever. Battlefield Earth is worse, but I can't think of any others. Therefore, I'm not jealous at all.

Actually, I'm buying LHOTL for its deplorable violence. I am guessing that you have only seen the American release of the film. The uncut version is quite a bit longer, and has some really awful, disturbing stuff.

I probably wont watch it often, but its a good one for the collection.

And you're a little jelous, admit it.

It probably was the American release, though it IS an american movie, yes? I remember them speaking English (not dubbed). But it was terrible editing. It DID almost look like they left a whole bunch of stuff out. We were teenagers, on a big gory movie kick, watching all the movies we could find that said, "Banned in 50 countries," and that one had nothing good in it at all. Not compared to the film "God Told Me To." That was truly disturbing. "LHOL," was just bad I thought. And we all know that if I don't like a movie, it's no good.

I'm not too jealous because I can always watch them at your house.

LHOTL was indeed American and was Wes Cravens first movie. Just goes to prove that everyones got to start somewhere ( see James Camerons first effort, "Piranha II: Flying Killers" for another example of an excremental first directorial effort...as well as Lance Henriksen geting his nuts bitten off by mutant winged Poisson )

LHOTL is one of many movies that was put on the notorious banned "video nasties" list in 1984, here in the UK. I doubt it'll ever get a release over here in my lifetime ( unless its very heavily cut )

Too Weird...

...I was watching "The Beyond" and "City Of the Living Dead" yesterday...First time I've watched "City" in ages. Still a huge fan of the "girl vomitting her own intestines" scene. Would've been nice if they'd had a script that wasn't written with Crayons though ;). Got to love that Spaghetti Splatter scripting.

Love the soundtracks to those films. Total Italian-Synth Cheese. Managed to pick them up a while ago on CD, along with the soundtrack for Fulci's "Zombie"

If you haven't already, check this site out. I brought some CD's from it a while ago...I've never used its film service but he's got all kinds of goodies

Nice

That is quite a nice collection of movies to pick up at once. I don't think there is one movie in there that I considered bad, I own all of them as it is. Oh and LHOL is being released on DVD sometime in August I believe, and I'm pretty sure it's the uncut version. But fuck that anyway, the best release in August is Return of the Living Dead on FUCKING DVD. THAT's badass. Oh and everyone knows that the best Italian soundtrack is to Cannibal Holocaust, the theme alone kills all the competition. As far as cheesy Italian synth music goes, I don't think you can get much better than Dawn of the Dead or Zombie. Oh and I hate New York Ripper, the gore is nice but it sucks, almost as bad as Cat in the Brain...Jive cock?

Oh Mike,

You're so learned.

The uncut version of LHOL has never been released in this country, and will surely be NC-17. It may get released here, but its not like it would be at your locl Blockbuster.

Yes, the music in Fulci's Zombie is delightfully terrible. As are the screams of the announcer at the end...

"Zombies have been reported in this vicinity, they're in the building, they're at the door, they're coming in...ARRRRRRGGGGGGHHH"

Yup, that's the one.

Oh yeah.

Dude,

that site is awesome. I've been getting my alternative T's from this guy Andrew D Gore that I found on Ebay. he has his own store now, but his shirts are like, $10 more than those at Blackest Heart. yay for me.

I've needed a Savini shirt since I saw Creepshow as a little kid. I had to go back and see Dawn of the Dead later when I was old enough to not freak out. Coem to think of it, I freaked out anyway, and mostly still do. That movie is fucking scary.

Thanks so much for sharing. (which I mean in the honest way, not the sarcastic way)

You never know, LHOL might be unrated or NC-17, I'm surprised Anchor Bay hasn't picked it up yet and released it full uncut. But anyway, Return of the Living Dead, that's what I'm all about,

Frank: They want two adult femail skeletons with perfect teeth. Okay so that's a 2afpt.

or

Frank: I think there's a skeleton farm over in India.

For some reason those two parts always make me laugh. Because it's funny ha-ha not funny queer.(Another great film)

Robs take on these

I spit on your grave is good if you get the uncut version, last house on the left is a very similar kind of movie (but a better wes craven movie from the 70's is the hills have eyes, i cant tell you how much that movie rules.) ive never seen NY ripper but i need to. the beyond is probably my favorite horror movie, along with zombie. and cannibal holocaust actually disappointed me because i saw the amazing cannibal ferox (make them die slowly) first.

I have seen LHOL many years ago, though it was a highly (and as uterdic pointed out poorly) edited film. I'm looking forward to seeing what I've been missing.

Hills have eyes is insane! That movei scared the hell out of me when I saw it...I was WAY too young. My folks were freaky that way. the only movie they didn't let me watch was the first Faces of Death because (he he he) they thought it was REAL.

Everyone seems to love the Beyond, I haven't seen it but I'm glad to be picking it up.
