H has been gone all day, not sure what he's up to. I'm going to try to work on my last chapter and maybe get a bite on the outline for my serial killer story.

Are YoYo's a stupid gift for male wedding attendants?
I think it's a cool gift, but I never know.

I'm also not sure if I want to plan for the ceremony outside or in the loft at Cobblestone Farm. Since it'll be October, it may rain, but it may not. I also don't know where I'd want to set it up. I hate all this decision making stuff. I wish I had someone around to help.

Tomorrow I will find out who my new job developer is. Hopefully it will be someone who knows how to develop a job for me. I'm sick of being not quite right for every single job I apply for. I have a bunch of wedding stuff to buy and I won't get my badass blue and silver cloak if I don't have a job. ;-[

I'll play.

I have to question #8.

Explain?

It's a stretch, I grant you, but I was thinking of how I spent my college years learning a lot more about people than I learned about literature.

That actually makes a lot of sense. It's making me all nostalgic.

:]

i vary in how nostalgic i am about those times. the sense of discovery was a kick, but it was kind of frightening and dark, too, and i had a sense of not knowing what the hell was going on that wasn't largely a happy throwing up of hands, like my current sense of not knowing what the hell is going on.

Sometimes I get the feeling that everyone is going through life in a fog occasionally interrupted by responsibility or some little stab of passion. Sometimes the best you can do is to strive for happiness and try not to hurt anybody.

I think most people would be a lot happier if they didn't expect so much from themselves.

this is a good point.

i've actually been thinking of happiness in association with those aerial shots of where i've lived. when i fixed that entry this weekend, i looked at them and tried to call up how happy or unhappy i'd been in each place. i had happinesses in almost all of 'em, but i also recall darkness in every single one as well. that was a little shocking, and i've been feeling a tad defective thinking about it since. but then, i tell myself, what is it i expect of myself, of life?

today i've been singing to myself that song "enjoy yourself, it's later than you think"--- the one the ghost skeletons sing in the woody allen musical. and just pondering how i can enjoy myself more. which, of all things, led to my mail ordering a couple of new bras! not something i'd have associated with contentment for many years, but now i've been denying myself any new ones cuzza the $$, and i've got only one i really like at the moment. the "good" bra. ha.

blather blather blather...

People who are intelligent and introspective expect a lot more out of life than people who aren't. This would have to mean that we're more likely to be disappointed--plus we tend to remember everything, not just the good parts.

Then again, I have plenty of self doubt that keeps me focusing on the negative. Finding a publisher, for example, has given me more worry than happiness; and nothing has really happened yet.

ha. i can imagine! still, at least intellectually you know it's a huge step, and exactly what you've been hoping for, out of that world of many things that are largely beyond our control, for a helluva long time.
