What is it about the holidays that makes people focus on the negative???



I swear to the gods, this is the only time of year I really, really care about not seeing my family anymore.
Okay, that's probably not true. But it's a fucking drag sometimes.

On the other side, I have a ton of things to be grateful for. And I almost feel like I don't deserve any of it if I can't be thankful and focus on all the good in my life--there's a lot of it.

You see...my Mom loved Christmas. It was the only time of year you could ever expect her to be nice and in a good mood. She loved giving presents and making cookies...I think because it made her feel like a good mother for a goddamn change. I've come to decide that my mom never meant to be an evil wench, she just had no idea that she was sick and needed to be medicated. It's very sad, really.

Not sure why I'm thinking about this today, but I am.
I also think I'm going to smoke and then make H some waffles.
H loves Alton Brown's recipe for waffles.
