I've been having fun with this stocking thing, giving everyone the gifts I'd give them if I was filthy rich. Frankly, giving cool gifts would be one of the coolest parts about being rich. If you're like me, you're constantly looking at catalogs and stuff and saying Damn...I wish I could buy that for so-and-so.

Speaking of you so-and-so's, here's the list of Yule based treats I'll be making this year:

1. Chocolate almond cherry granola
2. Orange cinnamon raisin granola
3. Mint chocolate chip cookies
4. Jam Thumb print cookies
5. Cinnamon Challah bread
6. Cranberry Breakfast Bread
7. Some of you locals might get peanut butter fudge, but it doesn't send well.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] sudrin, [livejournal.com profile] cmdavi_70 please send me (or comment and screen) your addresses so's I can send you your box of holiday cheer. [livejournal.com profile] thehula, you should expect a box from me as well. If I was rich, you'd all get yummy treats from me, because I could give FedEx as much money as I want. ;-]
Finishing my Yuletide shopping tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get H a shirt or two, some candy, some stockings for us, and some small toys. I also need candles and barettes, so I guess a trip to the dollar store is in order.

'Frankly, giving cool gifts would be one of the coolest parts about being rich.'

Were I filthy stinking rich I'd give everyone I know (not that many people) a thousand dollars cash. The money would stick in people's mind a lot more then any crap gift I could come up with.

Then again if I do get a good idea for a present, I'd give them that as well as the money.

I certainly wouldn't turn down the cash, but I do love a carefully chosen gift. Socks, for example.

Sure, it's 433 Adams St. 1C Oakland, CA 94610.

Can't wait to see what awaits!

Well, I still have some CD's that never reached you last year. The cookies will be fresh though. ;-]

Cinnamon Challah bread

Wow!

I wish we were closer cause we'd love some Wednes treats.

I totally agree about how fun it'd be to be rich & shower friends with gifts. Man, that'd be fun.

The bread is really easy. Just do a regular Challah recipe (I can give you a recipe if you don't have one) and before the final proof (Challah gets 3 rises) you roll the dough in sugar & cinnamon before you braid it.
It's fantastic, and since the dough itself has only a pinch of sugar, it's great for grandparents and people who can't have lots of sweet stuff.
