Hitchin' up a Hitchin' dress
It appears that the two most stressful descisions to make for the handfasting are the dress and the location. We're going to check out Cobblestone Farms for the locale, since I hear it is both nice and cheap cost effective. The food will be expensive also, but much less emotionally charged, methinks.
Of course I'll still need "foundation garments" (which is a hilarious term; please, lets all start using it again), a circlet, a besom, and some ballet slippers as they will be both cute and comfortable. I haven't worn any in years, it will be nostalgic to my younger, dancinger days...
H and I looked at rings online. They say to go to a jeweler in the mall or whereever to get sized so you know your proper ring size. But of course H thinks it would be dishonest to waste the salesmen's time by pretending we're going to buy from him. I said that we don't actually know where we're getting the rings yet--they might have something amazing that we can't resist (in a mall-as if!). He cracks me up. He's like Flanders to my Homer.
By the way, I'm going to need an Alpha E to read Corinthians.
Any takers?

Once the sleeves get fixed, it'll be good I think.

Did you know the Arboretum wanted $700 plus chair fee?

That's my vote.

Yeah, I worry with my body type that the white dress would look bad. I certainly don't need anything form fitting over my bulgy tummy.

I'm just glad to know people agree with me. I'm actually not very good at choosing dresses, which is why most of mine are the same style--well that, and Lane Bryant offers about 5 different styles of dresses.

And congrats! This is why I should keep up with LJ more often.

I just have to see how much it will cost. They "start" at $150, which seems to be for an all cotton dress; so I'm prolly looking at double that--which for a wedding dress is not bad.

Happy handfasting...and I didn't know you were on Witchvox! I am too.

Since the dress will be custom (in either case) I can still go with white if I want to, although I'm thinking I'd look better in a very light blue. But yeah, I agonize over how important it is for me to have a white dress--I can't decide how virginal I want to appear. ;-]

Just kidding, the blue dress is better.
It's funny, you talk about how you love K's Ring, and we bought it at the mall.

I also agree you should get your finger sized and you can just let the jeweler know that's all you really want.

It's so cute how he's so moral. ;-]

I like the blue dress as well! I also found this dress that I thought was pretty for you:

That site also has some kick ass jewelery.

I hope I can afford it once I talk to them about customizations.

I also want to see if Jason Berry will want to play guitar during the ceremony--I haven't talked to him in forever though.

I really liked the blue one, and it would be cool if the site comes back up so I can order it. I worry about the white one, since it doesn't have much of a wasteline--which I would totally need to sort of hide my belly, or at least camouflage it a bit. ;-]

On the dress you posted today, the higher waistline and looser skirt will do a nice job for that - though I'm sure with all the success you're having with your weight loss that won't be much of an issue, eh? :)
The most important thing, though, is that you feel as beautiful as you can - and honestly, if H is anything like my Matt, you could probably be wearing a gunny sack, but when he looks at you coming down the aisle toward him, you'll KNOW you're the most beautiful woman in the world!

Actually, a pajama party wedding would be pretty fun...
And beleive me, even if I make my goal here (not that I'm really hung up on the numbers) I'll still have plenty I'd like to hide. Sadly, I seem to want to advance the idea of Fat Acceptance more than I accept my own fatness.

And a pajama part wedding DOES sound like fun! hehe
