Okay, seriously. This is freaking me out.

There is weird weather and a rash of nightmares going around--all over the damn world.

I wish this hadn't coincided with War of the Worlds and Land of the Dead being on cable recently. Because my little noggin is just swimming with all the reasons why this is the end of the world. Kind of makes my Dionysian lifestyle seem like the wiser choice, no?

Seriously though, how many of you had a crazy zombie dream, and then within 3 days have another wierd and horrible nightmare that you've never had before? (I don't know about you all, but I'm a recurring dream/nightmare kinda gal). Last night I dreamed I was back working at McDonalds; that dream where it's 3am and we can't close because people keep streaming in.
It was fucking horrible.

And how's the weather where you are?
Torrential rain? Unexplained darkness? Bats?
Okay, I'm kidding about the bats, but shit is getting wierd out there.

It reminds me of the dream I had a few months ago where the moon exploded and it was really pretty like the beginning of Superman Returns. And everyone was running around all crazy and I was sitting calmly on a blanket with my brother. We didn't see the point of all that panicking, so we were just sitting there, waiting for the earth to stop spinning so we would all die.

But I'm telling you people, something's going on out there.
Or maybe it's just me...
but I don't think so.

hehe, i always notice weird weather patterns, etc. and wonder when they'll actually BE a true sign of the apocolypse or whatever. but i know its cos ive seen too many disaster movies hehe.

and such weird dreams! ive had that mcdonalds scenario actually happen to me, ...i HATE it when we get rushes right at close...GRR fucking GRR! :P

On the one hand, I'm terrified of the End Times. But on the other hand, that shit's gonna be Something To See!

[identity profile] irismoon.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
Strange things are indeed afoot at the circle K. I've been getting unsettling visions of the future too. The only thing I can offer that has comforted me somewhat is the knowledge that the future is NOT set in stone and that there are lots of different ways things could play out. The most important thing we can do is to imagine the most POSITIVE outcome for future, the more people that do this, the better! Also know that everything you've gone thru up till now will help carry you thru the darker times ahead. OK, i'm scaring myself now....

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
LOL

All optimism aside, I think a lot of people are freaked out. That's kinda my niche, I say what we're all thinkin'.
;-]

I daresay my past has helped me to become something of a tough cookie. Now I just have to push past the my Fear of Success. I'm terrified of putting myself in a position where people will expect something of me, as I'm sure I will fail. With that in mind, the sudden failure of gravity wouldn't be so bad.

[identity profile] calpurnius.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 12:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Ordinarily, I'd be right there with you, Wednesday, because I see that sort of thing a lot myself; but apart from personal drama, the last week or so has been good. Clear and calm here, the long hot summer giving away to a cooler fall. Gas prices dropping. But then again, that in itself could all be part of the plot.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course it could. It's tricking you into letting your guard down...that's why it get's many of us in out sleep. Some of us NEVER let our guard down.

I'd like to try sleeping again, but I heard on TV that sleep gives you cancer. I kinda wish those mettalica guys would teach me how to 'sleep with one eye open'. That would be sweet, I bet.

[identity profile] calpurnius.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
The samurai guys have been teaching me to sleep with both eyes closed, but it requires keeping a sword in bed, which can be a trick in itself.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Tell me about it!

[identity profile] uterdic.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 12:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry to justify a portion of this, but I am pretty sure the rain was Hurricaine John, which came up the west coast of Mexico (which makes it a typhoon, but I saw it listed as a hurricaine, so whatever), and then came across the country and we caught the tail end of it here. It was no longer a hurricaine, but it was carrying a lot of rain still.

That doesn't mean that there is nothing going on, however. I do think something is up.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh sure...a logical explanation!!

That's just what they'd like you to think.

[identity profile] darkeryet.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Haven't had nightmares and the weather's beautiful. :-)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, so either:

1. You're extraordinarily lucky

2. It's not as global as I thought

3. See above comment about not letting your guard down.

man, I *love* crazy zombie dreams. I've been having them every other night of late.

I once had one of theose McDonald's dreams where we closing up and the living dead wanted in.

I once remember closing up at 3am after a midnight shift and we backed onto a shopping centre. All I could see was a car and a few shopping trolleys being blown about in the wind. I was 18, saw Dan of the Dead the night before and got seriously freaked out as if you're on a shift, you have no contact with the outside world and the zombie thing could in theory have happened without us knowing...

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Get out of my mind, dude!

[identity profile] lirrin.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Weather's a little freaky here..had a HELL of a thunderstorm two days ago. Unusual for this area.

However, it's fall weather and to me, that's beautiful. Cloudy, drizzly, cool but not cold. Ahhhh.

As for freaky dreams...how about the one last night where I was at a Con and had a blind date, and he turned out to be a COMPLETE goober carrying St. Paddy's Day signs to give me as a gift? And then I had to pee, and I went into the little tiny outhouse with no lock on the door, and this goth chick kept trying to get in. She'd put her finger through the door hole (no knob) and try and open the door, and dork date would try to keep it shut, but clearly was ineffective. I finally said, "If you don't cut it out I'm going to break that little black-nailed finger off." One of those situations where I had more balls and testosterone than the guy. UGH. Okay, not exactly a nightmare. *hee*

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I do enjoy the cool, windy weather of fall in Michigan. We get some of that beautiful leaf action as well.
But lately, I'm consistently getting word about crazy winds (blowing the wrong way even), longer nights than one would expect this time of year...and lots and lots of zombie dreams.

Then again, I pay closer attention than most people to the significance (or not) of zombie dreams.

[identity profile] cmdavi-70.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
No weird weather here: sunny, dry, calm, and mild. That frog shower was pretty whack, though.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh ha HA!

He who shalt mock we who prepare for the apocalypse shall be first who is eaten by zombies--so let it be written, so let it be done. WORD!

[identity profile] diachrony.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
The weather's been fine here ... but since "here" is SoCA, that means nothing, probably.

I have had weird dreams - but unfortunately I forget them completely within something like 3 seconds of waking up, and only vaguely remember that I had a whacked-out dream. I wish I could remember them all.

I would much rather dream about zombies than about work. I *hate* the rare dreams in which the office or coworkers intrude!

Love your eclipse icon.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
Glad to hear it's not as widespread as I initially thought.

And yeah, I was very proud of the eclipse icon. Thanks!

Zombie dream -- check.

Kitty mutilation nightmare -- check.

Bats -- check. (well, we always have bats up here.)

Wierd weather -- um, not so much.

But three out of four; some wave of wierdness has been coming through.

Odd

[identity profile] katharinakatt.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
Odd, I've been sleeping fine lately. :) Then again, I've never really 'lost' in a dream. I have a flame thrower. :D

Re: Odd

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
That's very handy. I wonder if I could program that in...

Re: Odd

[identity profile] katharinakatt.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
I think it must be part of my survival instinct. (Or maybe playing Doom 3 too much.)

Guns always seem to run out of ammo, but the flamethrower takes all the zombies/monsters out.

That'll teach em!

mmmm sizzling zombie flesh. What a scent to wake up to. Almost as nice as burnt pubic hair smell.

Re: Odd

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
According to movies, burning zombie flesh makes people hungry for sausages.

Re: Odd

[identity profile] katharinakatt.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
Nah.. different smell .. totally.

I 'DO' live in Germany after all.

Burning zombie flesh makes me hungry for burnt chicken.

"Tastes just like chicken!"

Re: Odd

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:11 am (UTC)(link)
That makes a lot more sense.

Re: Odd

[identity profile] katharinakatt.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 10:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. :D

[identity profile] spiralwitch.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
*shudders* i was hoping it was just me feeling that way.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:12 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry.

But there is strength in numbers, after all.

Yuck a McDonalds dream...

2 nights ago I had my reoccuring dream where I can't dial the right phone number. I try and try but my fingers just won't press the didgets properly. But the funny thing about the dream, I was dialing on one of those VERY old cordless phones with the big rubber antenna. And last night I dreamed I found a huge ziplock back of cocaine. I woke up and laughed becaue I don't think they even make ziplock bags as big as the one in my dream. And I found it in Dina's basement. I often dream of Dina's parents house.

The weathers been okay here... Seems somewhat normal for this time of year.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Dont' be so sure, they make giant size Ziplock bags now. They're like, overnight size.

[identity profile] kissdbyagnome.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
well the ziplock bag was like the size of a king sized pillow. and i kept trying to zip it shut lol
