My feet are so damn warm and cozy...
For you see, I am wearing these kick-ass Brian Griffin slippers that I got as a gifty from K and N. They are quite funny in their puffiness and are a joy to behold and wear.
I tried out my new mixer yesterday. Guess what? It mixes things. Really well.
So all you local types are in luck. My cookie supply was running low but now that it will be so easy, I'm doing 3 more batches along with the baklava I already planned to make for some whiny vegan-boy who also enjoys sweets. ;-P So it'll be a big baking party around here once again this week. Choco-peanut butter chip cookies, jam thumbprints, and oatmeal w/butterscotch chips. Mmmmm. I might even do more pastries if I get ambitious, or bored.
Right now I'm finally hearing the new Fiona Apple: Extraordinary Machine, which is pretty good. So far there's one song I don't like and a few I like very much. Earlier, I was watching Tales from the Crypt. So Kassy and Dustin made my day without even being around. So thanks to them!
H's Grandmother, who likes me to call her "Gramma" is sending us some sheets soon. That'll be cool. Plus she and her hubby were reportedly delighted to get our box of cookies and "darling" picture of us. I can't remember the last time anyone said a picture of me was "darling" but it's probably around the same time I knew an old lady I called "Gramma". I must say, H's family is pretty cool.
So, the NaNoWriYe is starting soon. Even though I've only been neglecting my new novel for a month, it feels like it's been a year. I hope I don't have too much trouble getting back into it. I figure it shouldn't take more than a month to finish this draft, then I can take a month off to edit. At that point, I will likely pass the second draft to Nate to edit for nitpicky continuity things I always miss and he is great at finding. That will free me up to work on something else. And of course I have tons of swell ideas brewing; in addition to the two partial novels I can always get back to.
Of course I do hope to be back to work soon. I'm hoping Comcast will call me to work customer service for them. I really, really need a new laptop. My E key is sticking, which should be horrifying even to those of you who have never read Misery. Plus I really want to upgrade some things.

And of course, I am happy to accomodate your needs.

There are other reasons I need a new laptop, of course. But that would solve my short term issues. Although just pounding on this E key is slowly snapping it into shape.

Okay, I can't think of anything funny to say here, so I'll just say thanks!

I look forward to it.
