Movies, Film, Cinema, DVD's: it's all good.

You people are simply grand in terms of helping me find the movies I want. And me being me, I'm going to list a few more movies I'm looking for; rather than simply being thankful for my good fortune.

That said, if you have any of these movies and would like to send me a copy, I will happily trade you for copies of things in my own collection. I have plenty of zombie movies, and plenty of movies about serial killers, lesbian murderers (lesbians who murder, not killers who kill lesbians) and a few twisted sexy thrillers.

What am I looking for?

Raging Sharks. I'm told this movie is not so good, but that the shark attack scenes are great. Still though, I'm not paying $25 for it, because I rarely pay that much for any single DVD. I love scary shark movies, though.

Devils Rejects. Can you beleive I still haven't seen this?!? No one wanted to see it with me, and the several people who said they were sending me a copy were not able to, in the end. Anyway, it's not out yet, and I really want to see it.

Undead. Another low budget, high imagination zombie movie. Supposed to be good, but not great. Again, don't really have $25 to spend on it. I still have tons of birthday and Xmas shopping to do.

Rhinoceros Eyes. You'd think I'd know where to score a copy of this movie already, but no. I don't think it was ever released on DVD. It's quirky and cool with a great cast, and I'd love to own it. I will gladly trade for a copy of Tattoo, a love story, or perhaps a copy of Splinter Cell creators movie Soft for Digging.

That said, I'm going out later to buy a copy of Land of the Dead. I also need to find my zippy CD case so I can put DVD's in it. I don't know where the heck it is, I'm thinking I might have given it away. Drag. Oh well.

While I'm here, let me ask everyone's opinions on buying movies for PSP. I don't really see an up-side, but mayhaps I am missing something. Input?

I haven't seen Devil's Rejects yet either. I certainly had more than one opportunity to at CineHell, but never quite made it.

I guess I just really didn't want to go by myself.

Is it to much to find a hottie babe to go to a movie with and murder afterwards? Geez!!! :P~

Aparently, it is.

It's just as well; as we're running out of room in the crawlspace.

But perhaps I've said too much.

Do you have a Netflix account? Because if you don't, considering the number of mainstream movies you end up buying, you'd be a lot better off just renting and ripping. Save the purchase funds for real collector's editions, limited number items, signed stuff, et cetera.

I've got shelves full of stuff that I paid $15-$20 for, most of which I couldn't sell for a quarter of that now. So far as watching goes, nine times out of ten, I can't tell the difference between an original copy and a compressed rip.

I do not have netflix. I probably will though, once I find a job.

I usually buy stuff used from Blockbuster, but they don't rent everything I want. Sometimes I just rent stuff and keep it, and just buy it back cheap from them later.

My computer doesn't burn DVD's. I have a DVDR unit hooked up to my tv, but a lot of discs seem to be copy guarded.

You definitely need a DVD burner on your computer. Especially since they've gone down so much in price. The first one I bought cost around $300 and that was for a little 4x that only burned on DVD+R. The last one I bought was a Sony that burns at up to 16x, burns on DVD-R, DVD+R, pretty much any kind of media you stick in it including dual layer. That only ran around $100 and I've seen them on sale for less since I got mine. I use a couple pieces of software (DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink) and I've only ever encountered one disc that I couldn't rip. And that may not have had anything to do with copyright protection.

But in the case of protected VHS tapes, out of print stuff not on DVD yet for instance, I use GoDVD. It's a little box that goes between player and recorder. Knocks out whatever signal they're using to interfere with dubbing. Best Buy has them in stock but I saved about fifty bucks by purchasing mine online.

Sadly, I will need a new computer before I can get any add ons. Since my (1999) ibook has USB1, I can't even use an ipod on it.

But it runs MS office, Photoshop, and Safari okay, so it's good enough for now.

I know...I'm dreadfully behind the times.

I coulda sworn I had a "Raging Sharks" screener around here somewhere. Email me your address and I'll send you some cheezy horror goodness.

Oh man...I'm way far excited now!!
