Clarence Pt 3
Well, Dan just drove us home from the vet where we've been since noon. Clarence, as suspected, is very sick. They don't know if it is lukemia, diabetes, or some kind of poisoning. We left a $250 deposit and they are going to begin tube feeding her tomorrow. They will also do some more tests. I couldn't take her to the A2 Cat Clinic as they could not get me in for three days. The humane society wouldn't see her until August 10 so this was our only option. As she has lost wieght and muscle mass, and was obviously dehydrated I didn't think I should wait. The doc agreed.
I was freaking out and crying in the docs office. They gave us an estimate of almost $1,000 to keep her for three days. I didn't think it was possible for me to mooch off of H more than I already have. Anyway, they are going to do some tests and feed her fliuds and some food and we'll see from there. I may have to put her down, as they say. Yesterday I didn't think there would be anything worse than waking up and finding her dead; but having to decide her fate is infinately worse. She has something wrong with her liver and it is making her 'yellow" in her eyes and mouth. For now, Pentelope seems to be fine.
By the way, I don't suppose anyone would like to pitch in $5 or $10 toward the vet bill?
If many people pitched in a little, it would help us out a lot.
