Well, Fuck Me Right in the EAR!

You know how for several days I've been saying how depressed I've been, and sick and such. How things just aren't going my way?

Well, you can mulitply that by about a zillion.
As of 3pm today, Madstone Ann Arbor is no more.

They shut us down, and we have no jobs.

I can't even put into words how upset I am, how betrayed I feel, and how very fucked my life is without a job in the middle of Ann Arbor, in the middle of summer. I mean, we moved into a more expensive apartment so we could be closer to work.

Plus my favorite manager just bought a house and had a kid. I feel even worse for him than i do for me.

Anyway, if you need me, I'll be panicking, pavement pounding, or crying into my dinner.

And if any of you Madstoners are finding out about this here instead of from someone else, sorry you had to find out this way. And I'm still having people over Saturday night to welcome Kassy home. I'm sure she'll need a drink.

more theaters closed

Madstone closed its remaining theaters this week. All I know is that Ann Arbor and Chandler, AZ chains were not making enough money and the Atlanta location was leased out in front of the companies nose to someone else. Denver, CO location closed on 6/6. San Diego and Tampa locations may be sold to another company.

Actually, Ann Arbor was the #3 Madstone theatre, after Atlanta and Chandler. They closed us down first because we were expensive to run and no one wanted to buy us.

Last I heard, there was great pressure to sell San Deigo or get stuck with the lease. they managed to weasel out of thier lease here in A2.
