Anime
After many viewings of Spirited Away, I finally feel ready to venture out into the world of Anime. I watched Legend of the Overfiend a while ago, but didn't really like it. I'm not sure why.
So H and I are going to watch Princess Mononokee, and Vampire Hunter D. What I need to know is, What is considered to be essential Anime veiwing. And...is there any background information I need to make Anime more enjoyable to watch. I like things more, the more info I have.
Thanks!

I want to see Spirited Away.
Uh.
I really liked Metropolis and Akira so check those out.
I'm just starting to get into it as well so my knowledge is limited.
Oh, and catch some of the Anime on Adult Swim...Especially Cowboy Bebop and Trigun.

Overall, series is better because they have more time to develop character.
X is an intriguing one, and if you like insanity, Perfect blue
as for series, trigun is lengthy but amusing, bebop is classic, and Im keen on rahXephon and azumanga daioh and Scryed!
many, many others. there really is one for any taste.
Re:
hoo boy, you should ask my brother
two that i can remember my bro forcing me to watch were perfect blue and akira. both were quite good. i think another was angel cop, but i'm not sure about that...
those are all i know. but they're good.
... akira and perfect blue can be quite disturbing... enjoy. :)
Re: hoo boy, you should ask my brother
So I'll be checking out Perfect Blue, Akira, Princess Mononokee, Vampire Hunter D, and after that it really depends on what I can get my hands on.
