I've been online for over an hour reading up on the teaching program at Eastern MI U. I have had my bachelors for over 10 years now, and never got around to getting my teaching certs. Honestly, I thought I'd be doing a bunch of different stuff with my life by now...Oh well.

The point is that I'm working toward going back to school. First, I have to get on a real schedule with loan payments. Then, it looks like I have to take a bunch of tests; get some letters of rec; and get my transcripts.

Frankly, I'm excited about the prospect of getting my teaching certs. Since I'm smart, higher education would be good for me. And I think I have attained some wisdom that the kids of today might find valuable.

Oh, and I wouldn't have to work in retail anymore.

I look forward to heading up a drama dept at some high school with enthusiastic kids who want to put on shows. I can hold creative writing workshops and help kids see that reading and writing is some of the greatest stuff you can do with your life.

ooh ooh...that sounds like such a nifty plan...I wish you the greatest luck...and I hope it all works out for you...

I, too, am not where I thought I should be in life...I am definitely not on the straightforward and linear path...I should be graduated by now...I should have a real job by now...instead, I am a two-time college dropout who works jobs that aren't enough to support myself and am forced to still live with my parents...woo!...

but reading and writing, that's definitely where it's at...and anything artistic or creative, for that matter...
