Zombies man...creep me out.
H and I watched The Walking Dead last night. I'm not gonna write a whole, long thing about it because I presume everyone who wanted to see it has already done so. I will say that I enjoyed it very much; and that a zombie square in the crosshairs has never made me cry before. I really enjoyed the way they parceled out information so each facet of the horror was that much more effective.
I have to say, between this and 28 Days Later, I am compelled to not jump over the initial spread of the zombie apocalypse. Zombie stories tend to have a late point of attack, as do my books. This time though, I really need to get in there and tell the tale. I have a cool idea, so I'm excited to see if I can pull it off.
Saw a really excellent zombie film over the weekend. I was one of the judges for a local film fest this year, and got to check out a Swedish zombie short (48 minutes or so) called Opstandelsen. Dark and bloody, with compelling characters dealing with more than just hordes of zombies. It all takes place in a church which provides architecture and and symbolism. I hit up the director on FB, I'm hoping he hits me back so I can write a thing about him for ZZN. That will be awesome.
A moment of silence if you would for the conclusion of the Ladies of Villainy series. It was heap big fun. My next series also deals with women in the horror/paranormal, and is about survivors (and chicks who should have survived, but didn't). That starts in December, after the NaNoWriMo is over.
