Life is totally chapping my ass right now. Wanna hear about it? Good.

I typically work 4 days a week at my day job. This is so I have time to do writer things. Marketing, writing, podcasting, networking, research, all the things that writers do--not just for the making of books, but finding an audience for said books. In the summer, I tend to go down to 3 days a week so I can give those special, summertime projects even more of my time and energy.

As you probably know, the podcast consumes my life at present. I learned GarageBand, I listened to endless hours of music to find just the right pieces to go with the prose. I talked to lots and lots of people, finally deciding on the few that I would need. Still haven't found an Indian actress yet--but I'm learning how to do the accent myself. I spent money to change my website around, and lots of time advertising.

Was supposed to record with my narrator on Thursday. Narrator is tricky to get ahold of as it is, and I've already had to talk to him once to confirm his interest and level of seriousness after being stood up. Other actors are interested, if I turn them down, I really need you to be up to the minute on this. Agreement.
A co-worker of mine had an emergency and asked me to please work for him. After confirming that a day switch (to Weds eve) was cool with my narrator, I took the shift. Waited around for over an hour past the meeting time on Weds, no narrator. When I called, he said he thought we were meeting up on Thursday. I reminded him that we changed it, he apologized and assured me I'd see him Thurs after work--files in hand.

Thursday rolls around, he cancels. At least he called this time, to tell me I'd be stuck with no ride and no files--and that I couldn't use my one and only day off to edit the vocal, because I don't have it. He assures me that I'll see him no later than 7pm on Friday--that he'd come by right after work.
Friday: 7pm--nothing. 8pm--still nothing, I send a text asking when to expect him. No response. By 9:30pm, I'm quite pissed. I have no evening left to speak of, no files to edit, and have to go to bed early so I can be in at 9am on Saturday.

Bonus: JoJo woke me up every hour with loud meowing and scratching on the bedroom door. I finally let him in to see WTF. All he wanted was to flop down on the bed and be petted. Jackass. So on top of being worried, frustrated, and pissed, I'm also operating on about 3 hours of sleep. So right now, at this moment, everyone in the world can shut up and leave me alone--not exactly the best attitude for a CS rep, but there you are.

Also--anybody with a decent mic feel like doing some narration for me?
You know...just in case? *grumble*

In better news, I scored a copy of the original The Collector starring Terrence Stamp. This is a creepy, delightful movie based on a creepier, more delightful book. In fact, The Collector is one of those books that inspires people who do horrible things. Lake and Ng were very into that book--well, Lake at least. I should probably compile a list of books that inspire killers:
The Collector: John Fowles
Catcher in the Rye: JD Salinger
The Bible: anon
Johhny Got his Gun: Dalton Trumbo
Collected Works of William Shakespere: Edward De Vere ;-]
The Trial: Franz Kafka
Am i missing any? That's just off the top of my head.

I also downloaded the new ultra-violent horror movie called The Collector (no connection that I am aware of to the John Fowles novel) that I'll be checking out soon. People are saying good things--so we shall see.
Finally watched South Park ep 201. Comedy Central is a coop full of cowards who lay down like bitches to let terrorists win. Lesson: our government will not negotiate with terrorists--but Viacom totally will. Also, the scene between Cartman and the "Head Ginger" is one of the greatest scenes that's ever happened in the history of Colorado.

Sorry to hear life's being such a pain in the ass. What is wrong with people that they can't reliable? How hard is it to make a phone call?

Extremely, apparently.

Anyway, Facebook is pooling its resources to find me another voice actor. So hopefully I won't be more than a day or two late with the new chapters.

It just occurred to me that [livejournal.com profile] djpekky has lots of Indian friends and might be able to help you.

I'm brushing up on accents now, hopefully by the time I have to record chapter 11, I'll have someone. By all means, if you know someone do send them my way!

That is amazing. I'm a Monkees fan from way back (read: early 70's *snerk*) and I had no idea that even existed.
