Technology, Kneel Before Zod!
Over three weeks, with less than $95, I'm doing something from my living room that 15 years ago would have cost me hundreds of dollars and taken at least a year. I'm compiling a CD of original music, broadcasters, and actors. It will have original artwork on the cover, and on the disc itself. I ordered everything online and had it delivered. People from all over the US are doing readings for me, and kicking serious ass at it. Real musicians are giving me original music and performances. H is doing awesome design as usual. I'm editing, mixing, and producing most of it at home. The covers are being printed by FedEx Office, and It's all gonna be done by March 25, which is ten days from now. In case you haven't heard, it's called A Spoonful of Murder. I know, right? I'm amazed that such a thing is even possible. I'm even more amazed that I'm doing it; and still more amazed that so many talented people have jumped at the invitation to work with me. Woot! It's a lot of frakkin' work though.

We saw Avatar. It was really neat to look at, and the 3D was pretty cool. It is obviously an ambitious project and a big leap forward in visual effects. That said, the story was predictable and familiar, and there were only stock characters. Stock characters to the point of cartoonish super-villainy. But you know, there are plenty of movies I love with stock characters and plots The Illusionist leaps to mind. Avatar had some good performances. Sigourney Weaver never EVER phones it in--even if it's a Ghostbusters sequel. And the Navi were fun to watch. I do wish they'd done a better job of naming things though. Navi? Unobtanium? Seriously. And no, it was not the best picture I saw this year. I loved District 9, Up, Precious, and Where the Wild Things Are (which also had some awesome visual effects) though I have not seen The Hurt Locker.
Went to pick up leftover books from the bookstore where I had my Book Release Party. I was expecting to pay a kingly sum to buy back all my unsold books. In fact, there weren't that many, and I will need to buy more before my next signing on the 27th. And some of them are signed and staying on the shelves. So that's all very good. I want to send the guys who hosted the event some sort of cool gift. But I don't know what, so I might just go with some chocolates from The Chocolate Garden. I hear only good things about those cats.
Okay, back to editing. Then, bed.

Also, I'm glad you keep mentioning your new book because it keeps reminding me that I still want to buy it! Even if I won't be able to sit down and read it for weeks or even months. ;c)
