Mmmmmm...

Meijer has Peanut Butter and Jelly ice cream. No, I'm not kidding. And yes, as long as peanut butter is safe, you should totally have some. It's premium ice cream sold by the pint. About 10 bites is a whole, big lot so eating one pint will def take you several sittings. Mostly super rich peanut butter ice cream. Then softer, super purple grape jelly swirl. Yummers, for serious.

My mom's cousin Victoria (don't you just love that name?) sent H and I the coolest gift. It's a bamboo box full of those flowers tea bouquets and a glass teapot for the steeping. You put a little bouquet of tea in the pot, pour in some hot water, and the dry tea blooms all pretty and then turns yummy. It's really pretty and I'm gonna give it a whirl on Weds, which is my next day off.

Going to catch up with Cindy tomorrow as I'm told that she bought me a tiny electric aquarium with fake fish that swim around. Apparently they had them for $2 at a local drugstore. Neat.

Having my first violin lesson on Friday. That should be neat. I'm gonna see if I can get it back in tune before the teacher gets here. A guy I work with is giving me lessons in exchange for my help with some writing projects. Eventually, I'm going to play in a recital at my work.

No, I don't love the name Victoria. Makes me think of Crown Princess of Sweden, Duchess of Västergötland. The whole royal family is annoying as hell. Kwame. Now, there's a name I love. Didn't lose the love even after I remembered there was that polkadotted rapper named Kwame, once upon a time. ;-)

We actually have several Victors and Victorias on the French side of my mother's fam. But I can certainly imagine a family of royals being annoying.

Here's a perfect example. I don't understand the concept. Why should I be impressed with some average person who's born into a royal family and gawk at them starry eyed whenever they make a dumb ass appearance in my town or wherever. All they do is wear expensive clothes and wave royally. Fuck that crap. :P

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2010-01-05 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Understandable. We don't have royals around here, so our media focuses on actors, then musicians, than anyone whose ever been on TV or prominently on the Internets.

At least they've done something, anything, to get famous. With these royal folks the attention is completely undeserved.

Accordingly, my first thought of "Victoria" (which I do like) was a soap opera character my mom used to watch.

Luckily, the tuner I bought for my dulcimer is well-suited to the violin. It will read the notes and tell me what they are, plus it has a tone generator. Happily, it's also a metronome for when I actually work up to needing one.

Thanks!

Oh, cool. Right now I just have a guitar tuner through plugging my electric guitar into an effects rack. I haven't had a tuner with a microphone for a while now.

We have them at my work for as low as $18 shipped.

I think I might know where you work, but I don't want to say it in case this isn't something you talk about online.

i cant begin to imagine what pb&j ice cream tastes like. so you just go ahead and have a bowl for me haha :)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2010-01-05 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
The ice cream part is really rich and creamy and peanut buttery. Then there's a grape swirl. It's surprisingly good. Typically, I would eat the Hagan Daas Chocolate Peanut Butter but this is a nice change.

I know, right? It says each bouquet will do up to three. I'm quite stoked to try it out next time I'm feeling girly.
