Looks like I'm gonna need some more smack!

Today was my photo shoot with [livejournal.com profile] slapnticklejr, who also was my wedding photographer. Since I hate getting my picture taken, I'm grateful that I get to work with someone who lets me be really specific and honest about what I want and what I want to avoid. As these are publicity pics, we went to that cemetery over by the Arb. They had a good combination of old and modern headstones, some cool sculptures, and excellent atmosphere. We saw two guys with shovels standing next to an open grave. Best of all, there was a family of deer (none had antlers though, so maybe a mom and some cubs or deerlets or whatever they are called) that was not remotely afraid of people. I had no idea that deer would stand on their hind legs to reach leaves on tall trees, but they do. It was awesome. We got a lot of great shots of me, some of which I'll be sharing in the not too distant future.

Ordered my tickets for the Vampire Ball, so those should arrive very soon.

Got an Email last night from my publisher telling me that he wants to set up the galley on this novel TOMORROW. I thought I had roughly 10 more days. So I'll be staying up all night working on it. I also have to write my Gratitude page which I have some cool ideas for but am not sure I can do to my satisfaction within the next say, 15 hours that I have left.

The poetry challenge is off to a slow start. One poem written thusfar, but I plan to write about my cemetery experiences tomorrow, and maybe something about deer. I also have an idea for another Monster in the Closet story in poem form. Maybe one without so much sex in it.

For those of you who are wondering, I am planning on having my annual birthday soiree this year. My best guess puts it on November 21st which is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. So you know..save the date!

It's pretty nice.

The deer were shocking and awesome.
