Tv and sadness

Not really "feeling it" today. Don't want to go to work. Don't feel able to write. Not wanting to be social or productive and am really just forcing myself to do regular, normal stuff. In short, I'm very depressed. And I'm sick to death of it. Had to postpone my doc appointment due to finances, but hopefully I'll be able to go next week.

H and I watched the BattleStar Galactica finale last night.

The big battle with the cylons was awesome, though I'm kinda surprised the centurions can be taken down so easily with conventional weapons. I'm glad Helo didn't die and that the Agathon's got their kid back. I was certainly pleased to see Hoshi become the admiral, if only for a little while. Actually, I thought more people would die. So it was nice to see so many people make it to Earth, even though they didn't actually know they were on Earth. The ironing is delicious. ;-]
Baltar, I think, should have died. Tyrol killing Tori was a long time in coming, and I for one was glad to see it. Tyrol has always had a bit of a temper, but I think his reaction to that news was understandable.
I liked the whole thing with Gaius and Caprica Six on Earth 150,000 years later (once I got over Baltar living to get to Earth) even though I don't really understand their whole deal. I think it means that the polytheistic view point was right all along and that Baltar and Six are gods. They seem to know what we would call the Hebrew God and that he "hates being called that," whatever that may mean.
As for Kara Thrace, I understand that she was supposed to get everyone to Earth. But how does that make her a harbinger of death? They never explained what was up with the other body and the necrotic blood. Unless they address it in the upcoming movie, Kara Thrace's whole deal not being explained will be my biggest disappointment of the series as a whole. Sappy as it sounds, I would have liked for her and Little Adama to end up together at the end. I mean, if Gaius and Six can work out their issues, surely Lee and Starbuck could. That said, I can't imagine we'll watch Caprica. I don't even know who the Greystone's are.

I also caught the Big Love season finale last night. I have to say, I feel bad for Albee. With Roman as his father, I don't see how he could have become anything other than what he is. Nicky is a different story, as she has had the unconditional love of a family for quite some time now, and she keeps fucking up. I think Bill is in the right there. Joey's whole deal was a surprise, though of course it makes a lot of sense. I really do enjoy that show, though even for HBO, a ten episode season is pretty punk.

The latest word on Daniel Radcliffe's stunt double is that he will be a quadriplegic. It's very sad, the poor kid was only 25. I guess they've finally repoened the set and have resumed filming.

I felt like, for a show that offered so many different points of view with Religion and Politics, it was a cop out for them to DECIDE for you at the end like they seem to have done. Overall it was a good show, but that hackneyed final episode will forever keep it from greatness IMHO

I can certainly see that point. I did enjoy most of the episode, but there were a few "resolutions" I didn't care for--most notably Starbuck.

I'm not going to let it ruin the series for me though, it was too damn good.

Well, like I said, it didn't RUIN the series for me. There are still a lot of things I remember fondly about it. (the episode "33", Galatica "jumping" in over new Caprica, Anything Doc. Cottle did, Adama) I just wished for more. Maybe my mad dreams could never be realized. :)

Could be.

i assumed that starbuck was a ghost since she vanished at the end. She taking them to the wrong earth & then earth by song brought a lot of death, she found her own death.

Interesting theory.
I'll give it some thought.
