Belated "holiday" goings on...and cannibalism.

H and I celebrated Valentine's Day on Monday by clearing all the snakes out of our apartment. LOL Wait, maybe that was Saint Patrick. Now I can't remember. Anywhoo, I got him a Thor comic book that contains the first 6 issues. He got me some French horror that I have never seen before. First, The Backwoods starring Gary Oldman. Apparently it serves as a reminder that red necks are not restricted to the US. Who knew?
Next, is Frontier(s). This movie has been called the French answer to Hostel and SAW. We shall see. It contains an actor I like, who played Loic in He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not which is one of my favorite French films.

We got a new microwave to replace one we bought less than 2 years ago. This one is bigger and nicer, and has a sensor feature that works beautifully. You just tell it to cook the food until it is hot, and it measures the moisture being put out by the food. More importantly, we're keeping the warranty on THIS one somewhere's where we can find it in a year or so if it breaks.

I'm supposed to be working on a story for these guys that is about the threat of being eaten. Aside from submitting my awesome story The Growlers, I can't think of a single cool idea to write about. Cannibalism is such a wide open subject and is such a scary concept that I just don't know why nothing is coming to me.
Soooo...if any of you have any scary concept ideas about people being food for zombies, monsters, human cannibals, grizzly bears, whatever...do let me in on it. I've got nothing in my idea file, because that is mainly ideas for characters and situations, not concepts, if that makes any sense.

Lastly, one of my favorite Anthony Perkins movies was super cheap on Amazon. So I bought it and am having it delivered here for less than $7. In a few days, I'll be able to watch Edge of Sanity whenever I want.

It was Saint Patrick. But it's always prudent to remove all the snakes from your apartment, if you haven't invited them in the first place. Or even if you have and they're just out of hand.

True enough. :-]

In truth, we removed the snakes from our old apartment, and they've never come back.

Weirdly, I just read a passage in a George Carlin book about cannibalism. It was his pitch for a TV show based loosely on Survivor. Leave people on an island with no food, and watch them starve. Make sure they have water, but no food. And as an added bonus, half the group is made up of large, healthy, athletic individuals, and the other half is made up of small, weak, uncoordinated, meek individuals. Good times.

Nice.

I heard something on NPR about a trend of mixing Zombies with Jane Austen, like "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" which "features the original text of Jane Austen's beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action". It made me think of you.

Ha!

That would be awesome.
